Playing UO Renaissance on a Mac OSX using a download and play package

going trough a divorce IRL so game time is very very hectic. (its my main hobby though).

Just downloaded the latest client, I somehow didn't see until now, that a new one was released. I can definitely say that my macros are now running a lot smoother! They don't seem to get stuck anymore! Thanks a lot!

I'm having an issue to where if I get to far out of a city, the game crashes. My first character went through a moongate and then game insta crashed, and continues to crash immediately after logging into that character.

My second character ran too far out of Brit and crashed, and now craches immediately upon logging in.

Plz help I was so excited that I finally got UO on my mac!!!!

Just wanted to say that I'm using the mac client and it's working brilliantly for me. I held off joining this server because the previous version didn't seem to work for me, but the new one does. Anyone else having problems?

My only complaint is that the music won't play in-game, but I'm not sure what the issue is. Thanks to whoever made this.

i never bothered the music, its annoying anyways

I was very excited when I found this server and especially the mac client. But when I try downloading the client, all the links (both the new and old client) on the download page gave an error. Is there a problem or is there an alternative download location?

Hello, I'm looking to play some UO after a really long time of being away and I have my wife's mac as the only source of gaming. I've downloaded everything, and when I'm at the character selection screen, I get the "Entering Britannia" message, then the client.exe crashes.

Anyone able to give me a hand in fixing this?

Outlaw, are you positive you have downloaded the package from the download section? this is dated from June 2016. works without problems at my end for over 1 year now.

I can't tell you how grateful I am to nkr and anyone else concerned, for this. I couldn't believe it could possibly be as easy as the instructions, but I followed them carefully, and here I am, working good and fine on my 2015 MacBook Air, running Sierra v10.12.2

It's amazing to be back in that world which holds so many good memories for me, and I'm loving it.

My next question is, as I will shortly be working away from internet for a few weeks, is there ANY way for me to get a version of this working on the Mac offline? My own server, I guess, is what I'm saying? So I can get my fix while I'm off the grid for a while?

it's me or playing on mac have serious performance issues? i can't make 3 single steps running without getting a 1 sec stop it's very frustrating because i get killed by many monsters because i can't run away

I'm playing on MacBook air mid 2011 and I have a 300mb fiber connection I shouldn't have this issues.

I tried to go to brigand camp (occlo) but they run so fast and I get frozen every 4 or 5 steps so it's almost impossible not to die

Somehow, whilst playing yesterday, I inadvertently activated fullscreen mode (cmd+enter ?). I was unable to see (or use) Razor as a result, and if I try to shrink it back with cmd+enter again, it crashes after a few seconds.

Anyone else had that or a similar problem, or able to suggest a remedy?

I'm using the version of UO for Mac I downloaded from post number 1 in this thread, without any amendments. I'm running it all on a MacBook Air runnng Sierra version 10.12.2

It sounds like you are either dropping lots of packets or have a terrible ping time (or both). Open a command prompt on your mac and run the following command:

traceroute login.uorenaissance.com

traceroute -S -q 30 login.uorenaissance.com

Ultima Online was designed to play over a 56k modem connection. It does not require much bandwidth at all. But the quality of the connection and the response time are very important. A good ping time is anything between 0-100ms. Playable, but not great ping times are between 100-250. Really poor ping times are anything higher than 250ms. The game starts to be unplayable as it approaches 250ms or higher.

If you are going to be doing PvP I suggest keeping it lower than 100ms for sure.
