And thus the quest to fill the ice box, began. I might just unlock that ice chest on top of Paws tower and try to fill it with every good beverage I can find. Stay tuned.
Yes, throw away account. No new person inquiring about server population would start off by calling it a lie... unless you want to put a target on your back for the rest of your time here. Furthermore, if you were indeed curious about any of this you would have replied to some of the explanations by now. Good day!
It's a great server, pretty unplayable server location atm but that's besides the point. Anyone who isn't a hardcore UOR player and looked at this server from the outside looking in has questioned this client count. If you as a UOR player have not questioned it yourself you're either blind , bad at math , or think NPCs are other players playing with you. I do not think the numbers are a lie. Telamon is uniquely passionate about the fact his client numbers arnt a lie in a market where so many free servers client boost. However the numbers are skewed in a sense of activity vs population. The collect plat while afk is a genius system he created which works as intended . Keeping numbers high for the server to stay attractive. No the activity level is not characteristic of the number. It feels like a 200 pop server. but find me another server with a higher than 200 pop that isn't a neon cash cow. If you like UOR this will remain your best option for sometime.
If you have just one friend to play this game with it can be a spectacular setting for nearly endless fun. 3 - 5 and you feel like you can accomplish anything. More than that, PvP happens... yay! 5v5 is a reasonable expectation and a setting for yet again, nearly endless fun. 10 v 10 and my head explodes because I personally can't process that much potential fun. So OP... just what the fuck exactly was your point again?
Dear OP: Telamon is very transparent as others have pointed out about the population. It is the actual client count on the server. He has also shared statistics as others have also pointed out about the average client count per IP is around 1.5. The plat system is great for keeping the pop high for attracting new players. This is not a banksit shard, although Occlo has been rather busy lately. I've NEVER had issues finding live people playing, but then again I know where to look. What is it that you're struggling to do? If you expect a blacksmith at W brit smithy waiting to repair your armor, you'll be sadly disappointed. IRC and the forums are the "west brit bank" of this shard, as many others have said. I think some of the initial hostility was because this thread REEKS of someone from other shards coming to our forums to dissuade people from playing here. Since most other shards are "for profit", this is to be expected. UOR is a labor of love, as anyone who spends even a small amount of time here can see.
i once had grand schemes to run a live magical forge out of Paws workshop. i still have the tools to run it, but I realized i could not run it 24/7 and pay for Internet and food for children.... *sigh*
