I am hunting like a mad man and have only gotten around 30 or so. Is there a faster way to do it? Do dungeons provide better yields? I see these crazy posts of people selling hundreds and hundreds of HC and I feel like I am doing something wrong.
You typically get 60-70 coins per scroll that you do. 20 in each chest at the end + 10 for turning the scroll into the vendor + whatever drops from mobs.
people saved holiday coin from previous events, as well as doing holidays scrolls - both recently dropped and saved from last year
I don't usually share this info... but you've weaseled it out of me! my three step, bullet proof business model! (originally spoken in broken Cromag English so even the most illiterate peasant could understand it, but translated for the academic among us) 1. no buy [keep overhead at 0, avoid buying/purchasing or any actions that involve spending money/time/energy] 2. only sell [any and all transactions should be based around a relationship where you are the seller and the other person is the buyer... for non transactional relationships such as you selling death and a monster buying it... this is true capitalism!] 3. get money [money being a factor of X, representing currency/heads carrying a bounty/reagents/rares/armor/etc... you want lots of these] but in all seriousness. I'll kill like 20 spawn, get 0 coins, then get pk'd for my boots by the battle miner I pk'd early to get his boots [he spent time breaking them in and doesn't wanna do it all over again] then I will contemplate making a non melee character only to change my mind at the last moment. wash... rinse... repeat.
Simple: Spend every waking moment on UOR killing Christmas Spawn hoping for scroll drops. Scrolls are where it's at like AC said. Some people are just out of their minds with the time they invest, they need help.
Each holiday scroll can earn you upwards of 60-70 holiday coins. There are also the following events year round in which you can earn coins - Valentines* (7-10 days) - Christmas* (20-22 Days) - Easter* (7-10 Days) - St Patty's Day (5-7 Days) - Halloween* (18-20 days) - Thanksgiving (5-7 Days) * Has its own reward store. Some items can seem pricey in the shop, but you have plenty of time to work towards that item you really want. Also unique to this years event you have a double chance to earn scrolls/coins when hunting Christmas monsters in more dangerous locations. (dungeons etc) We also have several large overworld events that will take place over the next few weeks that will give you more chances. Christmas Bestiary
Christmas > Halloween. I see people who quit for the entire year return to participate. Both events are good, but the Christmas event is pretty masterful.
