Coming up with a solution acknowledges that there is a problem. Your concern is in regards to accounts able to hoard and refresh other houses. In essence, they are limiting the new players from placing homes and thus discouraging player retention. Can the housing situation be improved? Of course it can, but I doubt many will support you considering that we are all roughly on the same page. I am new enough where I want to sell everything and own one keep/fort. Possibly later on, I may want many and end up doing the same as the veterans. In the process, I may help retain other players houses and/or have them retain mine. But for now, my foresight is set on just playing the market to get what I want. It is a clear indicator that you may not have the support you were hoping for. It was made clear to me after the first three pages along on THIS thread (let alone the many other threads about housing). Not to discourage your work, but your energy may be best focused on something else. I can't seem to find the thread, but a great example would be one made by ShadowJack or Jack of Shadows. I am sure someone here can recall/find it, but it was about improving stealing. He had proposed some solution yet received no traction. I also believe he advocated it for several years. In regards to player retention, I believe @Momo would have been a good example. Player wants and needs just simply did not match up with the server. She wanted less Felucca and less PKing. Sometimes the shard can't satisfy all of your needs but that shouldn't discourage your from playing. Hell, I would have quit on life the same amount of times I've died in this game, if that was the case EDIT: after proof reading
You can assume control of an account if you discard and no longer use one of your originals. People have given away their accounts plenty on this shard and others. Using more than 3 for anything active is a violation of the rules here, for certain. Logging into a friend's account to click a sign in the event they are indisposed or unable to get online for an amount of time isn't going to get you banned. Though I wouldn't advertise it, I've also trained characters for friends before but not while playing my own accounts. I've idled friends accounts at my house in the past because they were traveling and it's really hard to tell because I've also had several friends over who play at my house with me in the past. There's obviously some grey area here but if push came to shove, being able to tell if you're using too many accounts for yourself isn't really that hard.
In the trade post every 3 announcement of the sale of the house, what are the problems in that it would be to buy a house and receive a bonus from the gameplay and interaction with the outside world ?! Do not want to buy real estate, you can find a place yourself, why this tough discussion ... Radically, fussily, with harsh statements and all this is as close as possible to loud phrases and closing by the staff ... All this discussion leads us to hell! With respect to all, Kiryana
Although I appreciate the snark, I'd have hoped with all the "employee" rumblings (and it's not just me), that the "boss" would have loudly proclaimed a solution by now. With that said, I'd have to lean toward no solution on deck.
