    Greetings, Vanaondo!

I am pleased to see that you have shown an interest in Yew! If I may, I would be happy to field some of the questions that you posed to Jaana earlier. She finds this time of year very taxing, so she is not likely to be available for a while. :D

At present, Yew has 10 citizen names inscribed on the stone (representing 8 actual players) but only about half of these are extremely active lately. Only one has not been seen for some time.

I am often available in the evenings and can often be found wandering the Deep Forest speaking to animals that share our home. During major events, you will find about three or four of us participating.

We regularly celebrate the solstices and equinoxes at Empath Abbey to mark the passing of the seasons. We also participate in events run by the greater community, such as the recent Shrine Cleansing Quests, the journey to restore Krake to the land of the living and even short encounters like Jupiter's caravan to Skara Brae that was raided by the filthy URK clan. Additionally, there will be an upcoming quest around the end of the month which I hope will draw several adventurers from Yew and our allied guilds, but I can speak no more of that at present.

We do not have any regularly planned adventures on a weekly basis, but we do participate in many events that can be found in the Player-run Events forum. Random encounters often pop up as well, and while these are often brief, they are well worth attending!

Generally speaking, Yew's return to self-rule and recruitment of new citizens is a relatively recent development, as you have no doubt noticed. We are a small, but active band of citizens and we welcome newcomers into our midst. Frankly, the effort has already exceeded my expectations and I am eager to see where we grow from here! You are most welcome to be a part of it if you so choose!

    Greetings Jaana

Maybe it can be so that I am not comming to Yew alone as I might bring some more citizens there as well. *smiles*

    (OOC)
I joined ICQ today, It was the main communication device during the UO days and I got in contact quickly with some old players and close friends that seems interested of joining this shard really. One of them have already created a char, well Maja from Germany, have recreated her Mage Barbara, who will meet the Mage Pekka tomorrow online and we see what happens from there. I suppose we adventure out in Ocllo and when we leave the young status, we will get to Yew and take a peek and I will write here when we plan to make a visit. I also got in contact with another former GM at the Europe shard and she might join as well, so maybe you get 3 new citizens?

How is it with any space for new houses around Yew? I would like to place a villa or log cabin or similar really or 2-3 or so. :)

You would all be most welcome!

As for housing, there are still some spaces for small houses in the forest, but larger spaces are not usually available. There is always the option to buy a home from the Trading Post, but they tend to be expensive.

However, all citizens of Yew are befriended to the Yew Lighthouse so they have a place to call home in Yew!

    That sounds great really.

I want to do finnish my young time at Ocllo before I get to Yew and become a citizen and member of the society. I was also able to lend a small hut just outside Ocllo from an elder so I have a roof over my head at least and a chest for me things. It was very nice of him indeed. I do not plan to stay there more than a month or so.

    [OOC]
I had to delete the first Vanaondo as I did screw him up with his initial skills so he is now deleted but I will remake him with two proper starting skills instead of three as taming takes so long time to train. I will get there one day or another. *smiles* Other skills are so cheap to train to a reasent starting level anyway, so now I at least have a nice plan.

    Hello Yew

I thought I should take the time to write ye a short report from my small temporary abode in Ocllo.

I learn more and more for each day that passes how to deal with animals and magic but it is a very slow process so I do not feel that I am ready to take the step into the Ocllo Moongate yet as I feel I need to be more prepared to be able to defend my self and my animals before I adventure out into the big Sosaria for good, so I just wanted to give ye a lifesign, thats all. It might even take a month before I will be able to go, unless you dont need me in Yew before that, if something fun or serious shows up.

Life is not always a walk in a park, not even in Ocllo where sinistered visitors comes to visit time to time. Yesterday I vittnessed a slaughterhouse more or less, murderers and villaigns attacked the citizens of Ocllo and the citizens of Ocllo managed to take care of these barbarians and hand over their heads to the guards of Brittain. I managed to hide myself and I was never in any danger, luckely for me but mostly, Ocllo is quiet and sometimes a bit tidious and I really look forward to the day when I feel I am ready for Sosaria and Yew, for good.

    Vanaondo,

I am pleased to hear that your progress is going well! I am not at all surprised to hear of the troubles that the island is experiencing. I believe that Occlo is best left to the Young and when youth has run its course, it is best to move on. Those who choose to remain long after their youth has run its course invite the sort of trouble you have described. Fortunately, you survived the assault and are in good health!

Obviously, I don't often visit Occlo these days, but I will be sure to step through its Moongate later this weekend to visit with you face-to-face. When the time comes, I hope that we might take a tour of Yew together and share a bottle of wine from the Brotherhood's finest grapes!

    Yew Endures!

    Greetings Yew

I thought I would write you a small report. During the week I read at the board in Ocllo about a new resturant opening in Yew, by someone called Alaster Lampet, so I thought, why not make a small visit to Yew and look it up? So I did and I was hooping maybe to catch you there as well?

The food was excelent. I took a salad which was fresh but he did not have any local wine, only wine from Moonglow but it was okay. I was hooping though to taste the famous local wine but he said he will try to get some untill next friday, when he plan to have the resturant open again. We where not many there but it was me, Alaster and a Llama rider called Bongo, who bought me some cider.

Yew as a town and its surroundings looks very nice and are up to my expectations so far. *smiles*

    Hello Yew

It's time for us to meet up as I really want to taste your famous local wine. *smiles*

I was hooping we also could take a look in the Yew area/surroundings if there is a chance for me to build a smaller abode somewhere as it is time for me now to leave Ocllo behind and venture into the big world.

If I do not hear from you before the weekend, I might venture out in the Yew surroundings to see if I may find a spot of my own or even maybe two spots?

I hope to see ye soon.

    Hello Yew

    [OOC]
A house in Yew has to wait a little bit, as I just bought a Villa in Britain but Vanaondo is very thirsty and would like to taste that wine. ;)
It will maybe take a week and I will have afford a Small Marble Workshop Deed for vendoring that I will try to place somewhere.

I just bought a Villa in East Britain but maybe I also will buy a L-shape in Yew, as I been offered to buy one and maybe I will and if I do, make it public as well I suppose as I do not have a clear plan what I want to do with such a house at the moment as I store all my stuff in the Villa. Well I am open for ideas and suggestions.

Greetings, all. I have recently arrived on Ocllo, where I have been regaining my bearings and brushing up on skills long forgotten. Those that follow the path of Justice have long been favored in my eyes, and I would be honored to join your cause.

[OOC] Heya! Just started on UO:R a few days ago, and will be looking for a home once I've done all I can in the Ocllo area. I'm an uber casual player, more interested in PvM and RP than anything else. Just coming back to UO after a nearly 15 year hiatus (with a few brief stints of nostalgia activity on live in the last couple of years). I am also currently playing on live Atlantic, but the pull of how it used to be is overwhelming.

Edit: [Still OOC] I hope you are still active. Seems you are a small guild, but I like what I've read here.

    Welcome back @Ceorlgar

I had the same thought as you have, joining Yew but the activity is still extremely low I am afraid.

The leader appears to be dealing with RL issues, so Yew might not be the place to go at the moment, but there are some other options out there!
