    Hello everyone, I've been playing UOR on my MacBook Pro for a month without any issues. However, it started acting weird lately-after I managed to tame and stable 2 dragons, I logged off as usual. The next day, the game won't launch [I usually go inside UORenaissance, show package content, right click, open wine package]. I've tried to 'right-click open' a few times but nothing happens. Any Ideas why it stopped running?

    I downloaded a new copy from the website last week and it runs fine, my old client still refuses to launch though. But I'm now experiencing minor issues such as:

    Profile Load Error
    Missing login.uorenaissance.com from razor splash [have to key in manually everytime]
    missing reagent counters [was there last night]

    Any ideas (except for burning my mac, lol)

    The drop down for servers in Razor probably lists about 3 other servers that have nothing to do with UOR right?

    I think this happens when it tries to update? It can be fixed with a registry update.

    Open the contents of the UOR app and run the wineskin app in there. Then go into advanced and select the Tools tab and run the registry editor.

    Save the following to a file called razor.reg and import it into the registry by going to Registry -> Import Registry File and selecting the text file you just made.

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Razor]
    "UpdateCheck"="24C85A5ED1C03FFF"
    "ServerEnc"="0"
    "PatchEncy"="1"
    "ShowWelcome"="1"
    "LastDir"="1"
    "LastServer"="login.uorenaissance.com"
    "LastPort"="2593"
    "Client1"="C:\\Ultima Online\\client.exe"
    "Dir1"="C:\\Ultima Online"

    I'm pretty sure that will set your server back to normal and the UpdateCheck setting above will make it so it never tries to update ever again. See http://uorforum.com/threads/how-to-bypass-razor-updates.2654/, which is where I got the information from to begin with.

    If you are concerned about making changes that might break things, just expand the folders in the registry to HKey_Current_Users\Software\Razor. Right-click on the Razor folder and choose export and make a backup of that folder to a text file of your choosing. You can re-import it back again anytime you like.

    As for the settings for your titlebar. That is set in an XML file in your Wineskin user profile which is inside the UOR App under "/Applications/UO Renaissance.app/Contents/Resources/drive_c/users/Wineskin/Application Data/Razor". Perhaps you have set it to use a different profile in the interface than you started with?

    Hi Chadarius! Thanks for the suggestions, will give it a try.

    What about the Profile Load error message and the problem of the app not launching? My title bar was fine one day, disappeared the next lol

    Hmmm well sometimes things can get accidentally checked on Razor like the CPU or always on top that mess with things in WINE.

    You may want to go into the registry and check a few of those settings out.

    Have you made any changes to the Wineskin settings at all? That can make things go sideways too. :)

    I've been playing with default settings for a month, then things go sideways for some reason.

    its recommended to keep working versions of your UO client at all times. like timemachine.

    dont forget, your running an pre historical game on machines that are not designed to "play games".

    though they work just fine doing it. at least thats my experience.... there are some glitches, but lets face it.... doesnt windows have worse issues?

    just saying...

    iml able to run uor just fine on my imac.

    I am having trouble opening UO on my Mac. I played for months fine, and one day I started experiencing a weird issue: the UO icon appears in my toolbar, but the client will not appear. I also cannot close UO when this happens, nor shut my computer down, due to UO remaining open...has anyone experienced anything like this? I have re installed a few different times, and have the same issue.

    did you upgrade anything or change anything to your OS or UOR ?
    also, how are/where you running uo in the 1st place? (wineskin, VM, bootcamp)?

    ps: do you have a copy of UOR on your timemachine? did you try restore this from a previous state (working state)?

    Thanks for responding, I did not change anything, it just would not open properly one day. I believe I was using wineskin, I honestly just downloaded the client from the UOR website and everything worked fine, until one day it stopped. I have deleted and re installed a few times, and this did not fix the issue. When I open UOR, it appears in the toolbar, but I cannot see any windows. The program is also un-closable, and forces me to do a hard reset on my computer every time. My computer is pretty new, and has no other issues.

    are you on IRC?
    ping me on labeler.

    id like to help but over forum thats pretty hard.

    *preferably you can download and install teamviewer. this way i can see what rly happens.

    no mac needs 'hard' resets, just can "terminate" the app you want.

    This is what happened to me when I upgraded to High Sierra.

    Try following the directions in the video posted here.

    That fixed it for me.
