Howdy everyone! So my first character created here (like so many others) was / is a provo dexxer. I played him a bit and created several other characters, and now I want to complete his template and maybe use him for AMIBs. The Only thing I haven't decided is what is the most useful skill to have roughly 40 points into (since I have around 60 magery and do not intend to GM it). Currently the slot has been passively filled by Resist, but I find it lacklustre since spells still destroy me when I miss a provo. Is there another skill that's useful? I could take hiding to 40 but I don't know how reliably you can hide with skill that low. Any ideas?
Hiding is a good pick due to the fact that it gains a significant boost from your stats and dexxers typically have high dexterity, so even though your 'real' hiding is only 40, you'll have about a 50/50 chance of hiding if you have a decent amount of dex.
I might consider med if I could wear studded leather without the loss, but I think that's still 50% effective meditation... Now that I think of it, I don't see anyone ever wear studded armor.
I have a lumberjack battle miner with no magery but I dislike not being able to get around self sufficiently on him (also gm resists on him). I still enjoy doing other provo dexxer activities, so magery is nice, especially when needing to escape the ever present pks
