Has anyone ran any tests on dexterity pots, and swing speed? As in how many additional swings are produced while under the pot effect, within 30 seconds or whatever tested time?

Also, stealing on this server. Can a thief disarm? Or did that come at a later time on official UO servers?

I haven't seen any tests like that besides basic dps charts for weapons sans potions

but if you want to test something like that you have to find the specific weapon speed your using.
http://www.uorenaissance.com/list/Weapon/M shows all the weapons. find the one you want and click to find the weapon speed

then run that number through the swing speed formula, which I believe is Attack Speed = 15,000 ÷ ( [Stamina +100] x Weapon Speed )

so for example, at 100 dex a double axe (speed of 37) swings every 2 seconds
at 120 dex with the pot, it swings every 1.8 seconds

    extrapolate that over 30 seconds
without pot you get 15 swings
with pot you get 16.7 swings

    Disarm is working afaik

Regarding seconds-per-swing and the Double Axe example, I believe on this shard the delay is at least calculated to two decimal points, probably more. So the delay at 100 dex is 2.03 seconds and the delay at 120 dex is 1.84 seconds.

I manually verified this for a few weapons in 2014 and found the seconds-per-swing was within 0.01 seconds for each weapon and stamina level I tested.

Likewise, I manually verified that swing speed could be faster than 1.25 seconds, though only in rare cases one would expect(dagger at 120 dex is like 1.24, and katana at 120 dex is 1.18).

I don't see any patch notes since then to indicate changes here, but I'm sometimes out of the loop.

you know what, I think you're right Dalavar. I coulda sworn I've swung katanas faster than that. Good question then. Is there a cap?

I don't know how to find a cap. I observed a Katana at 120 dex swung every 1.18 seconds, which was expected by the formula. I don't know how to get more than 120 dex besides being a monster, and I think neither a Phoenix wrestling with 300 dex, nor a Balron swinging a longsword at 255 dex, should swing faster than 1.18 seconds. Maybe a special holiday monster I'm not thinking of?

the NPC guards that are out of town at the outposts swing ridonculously fast...
but I am not good with setting up formula tests or anything.
seems like they hit at least once per second.

Elf fencer definitely swings faster than every 1.18 seconds.

Disarm works, and is a hell of a good time.

I thought I remembered that too, but according to the compendium they only have a max of 100 DEX.

The elves in general all swing way fast.
I feel very positive that the fencer elf would break the 1.18 marker as well...
I'm sure the compendium is off on this.
A lot of info on it is outdated or inaccurate.
