FIrst things first. Pictures of my dog, Mutombo, being awesome. Yes he plays basketball and some ferocious defense. Now on to the guide. Mutombo's Rhodesian Lockping Guide Identifying the Dungeon Chest's Level First and foremost you need to understand how to identify the level of the dungeon chests you find when crawling dungeons. The following chart helps you do just that. Three most important things are: what kind of chests it is, amount of gold, and does the chest contain arrows or not? If the chest has around 200 gold and no arrows then it is a level four chest. If it has around 200 gold and contains arrows it is a level three chest. Arrows are number one identifier between level threes and fours so look for them! List of Dungeon Chest Locations My understanding is that there are 28 level four chests across the entire shard. Below is a list of the level 4 chests I have identified and some information. The danger level column is purely my opinion. Static chests are chest that spawn in the same square every time wandering chests spawn in the same general area but not necessarily the exact same square. I believe the last chest is located in wind where the dragons spawn. I have not gotten to check yet. Other possible areas are the Ratman fort in the Ice Dungeon and Orphidian Keep in t2a. If someone knows where the last one is please post a comment! Covetous Chests 1. Storage Room 2. Covetous Dragons 3. Torture Room Deceit Chests 4. Bone Yard -- #1 5. Mushroom Room -- #2 6. I've looking at your guide to level 4 chests, and some of the spots I go to I get the "cant be manipulated" message. My lock picking is at 95.0 and 93.8 show real. I tried for hour and hours on GM/GM boxes to raise the base from 93.8, but it won't budge. Any suggestions?
Skill won't raise at that point from player-made chests. You'll need to do L4 chests from here on out. I'd suggest getting GM Detect Hidden at this point to ensure you can manipulate all L4 chests. Once GM Lockpicking, you can drop Detect Hidden.
Great guide here, thank you for sharing. A quick follow-up, is anyone able to confirm if this wandering chest still exists? It's the only one from the list I haven't found. See screenshot below. While there are 2 chests and a crate in this room, all are unlocked. Thanks
OK, I need some advice on lockpicking and dex. I am at 96.6 LP(real and shown), 10 dex and 0 detect hidden. It sucks to have such low dex as I fatigue so easily. When can I train up dex? Do I wait to gm LP or can I increase it now without effecting gain? Eventually I want balanced stats.
I don't think having extra dex would make much difference. Gaining at 96.6 vs 96.8 (or whatever) would go the same noticable speed. Afaik, that tactic is better suited to skills where you would want to "jump past" a point or so of skill gain to get to the next training step in the 80s or early 90s.
This thread is amazing for lockpicking and dungeon treasure hunting! Video of my weird dexxer/T-hunter below
Last Level 4 chest is at Ratmen Cave in Ice Dungeon. You need to sneak past the snowy section to enter.
