Perhaps i'm just silly, but I was always rather confused about the house placement rules. I could understand the No Housing zones that were at the Staff's discretion, though even those i'd have never had, personally. Naw, what i'm getting at is the House Placement rules regarding terrain. Those rules were put in to help stop exploits that would allow people access to people's houses. I was always of the opinion that if people want to place a house in a particular location on particular terrain, let them. If there's a hole underneath that people can recall into, then they should just deal with that. Sure, its leads to some pretty screwy placed houses, but if that's what the owner wants, then why not?

Idunno, just my 2 cents. I always thought the Uneven Terrain was silly. If people want the dangers that come with a house on uneven terrain, let them have it I say.

While it sounds nifty, and could be a nice fix for all those niche spots that something would fit on but for that 'one bump' or whatever, I don't think it necessary and it would only get exploited and put off players expecting appropriate and logical function.

Did you ever play a production shard way back when? All those improperly placed grandfathered houses really made the world a mess. Though I did always enjoy the small houses on top of towers.

Yeah, I'm definitely placing a tower on top of the guild fortress with a small tower on top of that......

There was a guy on Sonoma that had 2 smalls on a tower years ago. I saw the account go up for sale on Ebay and was tempted to buy it just to have em.

Actually I had that wtong. It was one small on the tower and 3 smalls in front creating a courtyard. Either way it would have been fun to own it for the novelty. But since I was already paying for 5 accounts of my own and 3 for my broke roommates I passed on it.

Surprised they weren't tents. (Although I can't remember if placed tents for grandfathered). The only purpose a tent ever really had was to make make-shift courtyards around houses.

No housing in swamps or T2A just looks and feels wrong.

Sure. Let's place houses where there are trees too. It makes no sense that a culture capable of building castles can't cut down a simple tree. Besides, I always wanted a treehouse.

And why not let them overhang the water? Chris could tweak the code so that piers get added automatically based on the terrain. I saw a castle hanging off Skara Brae that way on another shard. The courtyard drops off into the drink.

    Regards,
    Wil

LOL I remember that. I had the Large Plaster just SE of Brit East Bank right in town. I sold that account for $2500 back in the day. Back then I was Sargonnas, Chaos (red), C-Murder and Ariakas (red). There was also a double stacked Small tower way South of Brit in town as well.

It's been so long I can't remember the guild I was in. 409 definitely sounds familiar, but I'd have to know the GMs name to be certain if that was the guild. I ran with Ziggy a lot on my character C-Murder and I was in one of the top PK guilds with Chaos. I was in my own guild with Sargonnas that was a Chaos guild and was just a townie (was the first person on Sonoma with GM Parry) and that was a ton of fun back then when spells did no damage in town.
