so finished macroing Disco to GM this morning. Next is bonding my 2nd Dragon(if i can find a raid doing the Quest this weekend) and then training them while raising my Vet skill. But what do I do after that? What can two fully trained Dragons take on using Enticement? Also when PKs show up isnt it kinda hard to escape with 2 dragons? Normally I just hit my recall macro and Im gone in a second but now gotta cast Gate and then hope I can somehow manage to walk through the gate before I get killed, thats if the damn thing doesnt fizzle. Are there "safer" spots to hunt? I know EGs are proly pretty safe since theres a lot of doors that need to be opened first leaving me ample time to gate out once red names pop up.
Can farm anywhere you want basically.. Just have a good macro to gate out. You can carry gate scrolls on you so that you have a 100% chance to cast gate - then spam all follow me and go through. EG's is a decent farming spot. Can do blood elementals as well.
You should have a macro to "use" a moongate. Press Record, double-click on a moongate, and stop recording. Then change the macro to "by type" and bind it to a hotkey. You can add a couple of "all follow me" in the macro as well I guess. And yeah, gate scrolls are useful too, to ensure no failure. Just be sure you're quick enough at using them. I'd carry two for a larger "target" to double-click on. You an alternatively make a macro to use them "by type" as well, but make sure it's your habit to use that hotkey in an emergency and not your normal Gate or Recall spell hotkey. There are generally no worthwhile safe spots, so there will be some degree of danger in any spot. Elder Gazers in Shame can be fairly safe though due to the doors and walls blocking line of sight from those in the hallways.
I never had an all-in-one "escape" macro. Some people are going to suggest having a macro that does an all guard, caste gate, all follow, and click gate. Personally I like keeping those all on separate keys. Useful macros to use as a tamer: 1) the basic commands (all kill, all stop, etc) 2) the basic commands (all looped) 2a) 2 kill commands, 1 for nearest non-friendly and the other for nearest murderer 3) When you get real lazy, all kill, target nearest non-friendly, use skill discord, target random grey (Primarily use that at champion spawns) 4) the obvious escape macros (quick gate, quick recall, click gate) 5) I use 1 macro for healing. Use bandage, target last, wait 5s. Some people use an absolute target and diff macros for each dragon / mare. 6) A hotkey to stop macros. You don't want to get stuck calling all kill constantly when your dumbass friends go grey. 7) Add your friends as a friend (under razor agents) so you don't attack them. Also add their pets. Safe place to farm? Nowhere. Keep reflect up. Keep your back to a wall. Use your other accounts to scout the areas behind and in front of you. exec target closest murderer if sysmessage = new target for 1 to 10 / PKS INCOMING end for exec stop current macro end if
I have a “Tamer panic” macro. Real simple: Dbl click by type Gate scroll Wait 1s Say “all follow me” Wait 1s Target rune (specific rune, just retarget everytime you loose it) Say “all follow me” Dbl click by type blue moongate Bind that to a hotkey that you can access easily. Play around with the wait times, I’m not in front of my computer so I don’t remember off the top of my head. Also keep reflect up at all times, you’ll hardly ever be interrupted and 99% of the time you’ll make it out. I like to use pause instead of “wait for target” because 1 out of 100 times razor farts and hangs up on that.
Or just stand your ground and heal through the dump while letting your pets kill. I would escape if 2 or more PKs come though
Maybe this will help ya, I wrote it somewhat recently: http://uorforum.com/threads/dr-satans-basics-to-playing-your-finished-tamer.26188/ Can find me in #ps pretty often, if we are both free I can head out with ya and try to get ya knowing the basics with practice.
if you have a blessed runebook im pretty sure you can set your escape location, the bank or whatever, as the main rune in the book and then target your runebook with the gate spell so you dont have to constantly change your rune absolute target every time you die. well you can do that with a non blessed book too just dont forget to change the target if you die.
i was just stopping by to do help somebody with their gate escape macro to help them escape from those neer-do-gooders that would take all his stuffs
