There very well could be variance in the ownership of massive footprint homes, but the "us vs them" dichotomy would prevent it from being seen. I don't feel like I'm being told that I don't "deserve" a keep. In fact, i would say it's quite the opposite. New players here are given a jump start by the older veteran players and everyone in between. This can be seen in the free resist events, bard houses, pet resist, taming houses, housing contests, etc (all of which have been free). If you're goal is a keep, then you've been given the tools to acquire it.
Only place I know how to make it seen is here, but I think the largest issue in making the issue heard over the people who want it this way is that old members are active in defending their status. New members aren't quite up to the task of trying to petition any kind of change in what they don't stick around for. I guess I agree with the moral of this statement, but I would also argue that the people doing things like this are not the same as the ones camping the land. An acquisition is simple once you acquire the gold, and gold is easy to come by, even 20mil is probably less than a weeks work after you have a template that can farm it. But, if all the empty large footprints being hoarded were actually available, it wouldn't be a 20mil check for a keep. These are basically IDOC houses with nothing in them, and no involvement with the server except that they are being refreshed by someone who isn't using them for no other reason than that they can be. Will they sell or fall or be used someday? Surely, they must eventually be one of those three things. In the meantime though, you might as well just put them all over in Green Acre's and let people refresh their unused houses there.

I suppose I missed a post. You did actually mention the housing. I believe in your first post it says one per account would be smarter. I asked how you would go about that. The claim that houses are being "hoarded" and that "monopolies" exist are yours. The burden of proof is on you to substantiate those claims. If the evidence is as clearly marked as you say, present it, otherwise you've presented none. The observation seems to come without knowing how many of these footprints exist, how many spots can accommodate said foot print, or who owns them, only that you dont or they'e not utilized to your satisfaction. I believe the position of the server, concerning change, is that any idea regarding such needs to stand on its own merit. That principle is not present in this topic. The same principle could be extended to any of the current topic. I haven't called anyone names or berated anyone, however, this seems to be an exercise in futility, so I'll take this opportunity to say "best of luck to ya."
There is only free speech, hare speech is a made up term to control peolpes mind. Is the free world, not iran or congo.
Ok, so I've got the price on keeps wrong, but since you've decided to argue what I said didn't really matter, instead of what I said did -- empty houses everywhere. #1 is a low baller at 1000% over deed cost. #2 the anarchy keep has been on the market for over two weeks and has never received a single bid. Maybe it's because it's nearly 15x over deed price. #3 Merlin's new keep. I may have got the 20mil number from this auction, as it was stated that it should have sold for 20mil instead of 10. I wasn't pulling it out of my ass. I was pulling it from what little experience I have here. #4 Another keep that's been on the market for two weeks with 0 bids. Maybe if it wasn't at 15x cost with a b/i of the deed price it woud appeal to people who don't have 10mil gold just laying around. Better yet, if there was some actual competition in the market, maybe they would even come down into a price range that reflects the rest of the housing on the server. But there is no competition on the server. These houses probably haven't been placable since the first 20 people on the server farmed up their first 10mil and placed them all. When's the last time somebody built a keep? When's the last time one fell? When's the last time you saw an empty one? When's the last time you saw one that had been empty for a week? How about a month? Anybody know of one empty for a year? Firstly, the name calling remark wasn't directed at you, you've been completely cordial in your remarks. In reference to the housing, I responded that I had no idea how to go about doing what I said I thought should be, and I haven't tried to present anything to be merited other than that change might do the server good in regards to housing. As for the power abuse situation, I don't expect it to be merited by the people who are abusing the power. I also expect this thread has become rather useless considering it's toxicity. Perhaps someone not actually playing in the world (admins) will be able to see both sides of the equation better than I, or Earsnot, and perhaps they will have better ideas than doing what I've suggested, or what Earsnot and some others suggested -- doing nothing.
We're in trouble come Easter then . . . One of the points trying to be made is, there is limited space in UO to place massive houses to begin with, so the stock is also limited, which is a factor which drives up price. Once those who were able to purchase a deed and place, did so, and yes they probably were players who were on the server close to the beginning, because they had the best opportunity naturally. And these houses represent a large investment, so an owner would probably take care to keep it as long as they like in their possession. And a seller is going to price one for as much as the market can bear, as with any commodity.
I rarely see false equivalencies this blatant. Put some effort in next time. +1. Also I do believe Telamon doesn't suffer this kind of behavior, at least from what I've seen in IRC. Most of the world has laws against hate speech, being an American doesn't somehow exempt people from what constitutes hate speech; just because it's legal in your country to be as hateful as you like for xenophobic/etc reasons, doesn't mean the rest of the world wants to deal with it. Stick to your insular reddit subs for that, thanks!!
I really can't keep arguing these points with people who aren't even willing to admit there is another side to the coin. If this is the best there is too offer, then so be it. Next time you see an empty tower, keep, or fortress though. Remember how valuable it must be to whoever owns it to always be sitting empty, and think of how much more valuable it would be if they were all being utilized. And also, next time you see a red, or the next time you are on your red, remember that you are not worth engaging in pvp and that you have nothing better to do than to try to catch PvM'ers. Update: First time back out to hunt today. Attacked by a red in less than 5 minutes. As for the troll who doesn't understand hate speech. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hate_speech Read up.
Only thing i'll agree with you here is on this. Triple boxing is lame and should be shut down. That goes for anyone boxing reds or tamers. Otherwise, make a macro like everyone else, and as soon as you see a red name on screen you are gone before he gets within casting range.
This doesn't stimulate server growth, it harms it. Red is a playstyle almost entirely dedicated to killing a certain type of player, and there is no playstyle even capable of countering it.[/quote] When you use one playerbase as cannon fodder for another playerbase, you lose the one that can't defend itself. Idk, this game was born during the UO:R era for me. And I really like this server, I just really don't like that every red on the server has nothing better to do than hunt PvM'ers.
Also, just tried to go hunt again and was chased out again after a single kill. I've also made a gate macro and tested it, it works, but was ineffective. Total monster kills in past 6 hours. 4 Total hunt time. </10 minutes.
Why do you keep changing the title of this thread to beef up your agenda guy? Also, prove it. Post up your death shots from all of these reds pissing in yo cereal or make your death log public and post your profile. Everything you say is total gas, so until you start making with the gospel I'm just gonna list you off as another sucka troll.
Dear lord. Its just goes on and on. Adapt. Reds are murderers, they're playing ruthless killers and do so for fun. They have specifically trained themselves to do so as efficiently as possible, just like you have no doubt trained yourself to be as efficient... whoops. Therein lies the problem, you are wanting changes made to suit how you play, instead of (here it comes again) adapting to the environment you're in. PvM chars and players who choose to hang around and/or fight, will always die to PvP chars and players. If you have a repeated problem with this, do what everyone else does to avoid certain death, we recall the fuck outta there. There is nothing preventing you from fleeing the murderous hordes except your own inability to hit recall. Changes should not be made to suit someones inability to play how everyone else does.
