The ability to lift a ban from a house for platinum. This would allow the character/account to continue in their profession but at a cost. The chance to try again if you will. Taken from this thread: http://uorforum.com/threads/thieves.30849/#post-301429 ___________________ If we are to nit pick at something I would like to address house bans. I think they should be on a timer. Thieves need to have access to areas where people gather; shops, homes, casinos and other places people congregate. Unfortunately a permanent ban from these type of establishments really limits our opportunities to play alongside/with the community. Homeowners should definitely be able to ban a player, which should keep them on their toes always searching for the person in the shadows but it shouldn't be a one shot deal. Sure if a thief is found they can be banned but the ban should only last, lets say a month of real time or game time. This gives the homeowner peace of mind for a time from that specific thief but they need to know that they don't get to just forget about them forever. Especially since players are able to create macros to enter homes/doors, detect hidden and auto ban with Razor etc. I don't think we need to make it easier for steals to be successful but I do think there shouldn't be a mechanic where an entire portion of the world can be shut off for a player forever. Our server population is only so big and people that do play tend to visit populated areas to play with others.
This was a terribly negative thing on the live servers (CUB > Item Bless Deeds) Even if somehow we came up with a way to implement it it would carry such negative feelings. We have avoided blessed weapons/armor to this point and will continue to do so for the near future. (exceptions being phoenix/ranger armor)
Keep in mind the value is relative to the player, not to others. Given that you are able to secure 25 extra valuable items in a house it can be considered a valuable addition. That said we will most likely keep prices for existing items the same, as it would not be fair to players who purchased this item in the past or have several stashed away for future use. We do however plan to change houses to better report this in a sale situation so when selling a house the buyer is firmly aware of the money (copper/platinum) invested in improving the house.
Just looking at the UO Veteran Rewards, some of them might be worth looking into, though I'll admit that most are horrible. - Miniature house deeds - "Coral the Owl" (Portable town crier) - Banners (Chaos, Wall, regular hanging) - Seed Box (If gardening ever gets implemented!) - Ankh decoration - Tree stumps - Weapon engraving tool (Lets you add a line of text to a weapon) - Davies Locker (Table that allows storing of MiBs/Tmaps) - Koi Pond Some of the rewards are pretty crazy though, there's a "Crystal Portal" that can be locked down in your house and used by friends to teleport you to a bank/moongate by saying "<Town> Moongate/Mint". There's even objects that accrue items over time, like a sheep statue that produces wool every now and then.
Players who are PKd be allowed to pay in plat for temp statloss for the murderer once said murderer dies
Blessed Runes - This is just making things a bit to granular. Blessed runebooks provide a key element of the long term aspect of playing here. It gives players something to strive towards as they play. Reducing that to a single rune would make it cheaper, but also defeat the purpose of the blessed runebook. Also keep in mind this thread is about the platinum system and its value. Constantly adding items that never decay, never go away and never drop on death will mean that there is no in/out in the system. We need an equal balance of items that can one day decay from the server or serve as a sink for platinum to be removed from the economy.
Mechanically this one would be very tough as every house on the server would have to converted from an array of accounts for a ban list, to an array of characters. A monumental task just to allow someone to remove themselves from a ban list. While an interesting concept, it just does not fit with the existing coded design of houses. (Ban's are controlled by an index of accounts, not granular player id's)
If you add a lantern bless deed, could you also make it so lanterns don't drop when you cast. Kinda like a spell/rune book.
House wall plaque - Much like the best deco house plaques,, this one allows you to name your house - following common decency rules and will disappear if the house is ever dropped, either by choice or IDOC Hitching Post - Plat per use charges. Stabling or retrieving a pet costs a charge - figure out the cost per charge along with a base purchase price for the hitching post- again disappears when house drops by choice or IDOC Message Board for house - Plat to purchase, Plat to put up a message Door Paint - Furniture Dye Tub Colors only, allows you to paint any door in your house
These are my suggestions: -Adding additional hues to the runebook dye tub (no pre patch hues - no devaluing of existing books) -MOTW dye tub. No one likes the poop brown. No one. Even if it was limited palette like existing mask dyes. -Newbied items, when you make a new character and you choose specific skills give you specific newbied items, you lose them, because you're an idiot when your new. Let me re buy my newbied katana. Please. I want it back. -House statues. I want to feel like a giant walking around my own personal mini map. -Adding the option of an ethereal statue to the character statue selection. -Adding an option to have a customisable statue like you would a vendor. So it's stationary but you get to see those sandals someone paid 80 mil for not in valourite hue. I've tried to keep my suggestions era "responsible" and not anything that's going to have a dramatic knock on affect. These are just things I would personally enjoy saving up for. The one left field idea I have is a house courtyard add on for L towers. That back room could have a 4x4 square dropped on it with a lockable gate. I figured we can't be fucking with the outside of houses to maintain the era accuracy and a big artwork mod/patch But a platform in the house that doesn't affect the exterior and look of everyone's L towers would be a middle ground. I'm done. Also rideable ethereal versions of yourself called "piggy backers".....no big deal.
Plat rewards. - A normal brown or white horse in place of ethereal. - character movement deed, pay x plat to move chars between accounts (I know it’s CUB but maybe some people don’t want to pay with trash) - Reg stone/Potion Stone. Gives you a bag of 50 each reg until it runs out of charges. Same with potions. Disappears until you buy another. Math should be easy. Cost of 50 regs x #of charges. Comes in multiples of 50 - different useable containers. - recall stone. To be placed in your house, teleports you to a bank using no regs or magery. (chosen at random at time of purchase) - add a place where people can place their character statues. (CTF waiting area, etc) for plat. Then they can really show off their excess. - remove old plat rewards increasing their value. Adding fresh rewards as a plat sink.
I thought all of the new colored lanterns were blessed? Are they not? Sorry, I've been away a bit. If you're talking about blessing regular lanterns, there are newbied lanterns out there. My healer carries one.
