Have been wondering, is there a method or safe location for selling / trading items in game? With stealing being active didn't know if there is a safe way to do this for both sell and buyer. Thanks in advance South
Meet somewhere and do several reveals before accepting trade. Could also go to the event center as there’s no chances of theft there
Items cannot be stolen 10 seconds after being traded. Additionally it's against the TOS to use the trade forums to set up a deal where you scam/rob another player of an item you're auctioning. To make any sort of high value item trade more secure what I personally do is bank the item ahead of time so it's already secure. That way you don't run the risk of them asking you to meet at Occlo bank (don't do trades here) you recall in and someone insta steals the item in your pack. Another thing I do is drop a single empty bottle on the person to open up the trade window, sometimes people move and I'd much rather drop an empty bottle on the floor than a 10 mil mask dye that gets scavenged by a hidden player. Count those 0's and take your time. If you're trading an item that weighs a lot create a gate pen in your house for the person your trading with, this sort of trade requires trust and I wouldn't reccomend doing it with an unknown player. Whenever you do have to do a trade like this make sure that the details are recorded publicly on the forums and agreed upon by both parties. That drastically limits the fuckery. Another pretty risk free way of dealing with a high value item trade is to place a vendor in a small house placed out in "the sticks" and block off the door to other players. You can set the price and friend the player who's purchasing to the house and leave them locked in the house alone so they can purchase and gate items out as necessary while you wait outside. Like shipwreck said, reveal, and use the event center too if it's open.
