Well, I don't know what can be done about a constant gate...(to where)....but your horse should run with a near constant gait at least ;)

You want it from the Staff?
How about placing a char anywhere which just is constant gating?

Are you being serious? I've always thought that it would be in the best interest of the server, staff and players if such requests would come at a cost. Like maybe you would have to perform some tasks or something?

For example, I was planning on requesting a dock placement in the area of my Order that I hope will grow as a military encampment eventually serving as a stopping point for pilgrims complete with vendor services, tavern, inn etc.. But, requesting something like this would require that members of said military township work to collect a large amount of lumber, cloth, ingots etc.. which would essentially just be removed from the economy but be an example of how collectively the community would make things happen and show the staff that we don't want handouts and would work for any blessings bestowed.

I believe Telamon's intention for guild town add-ons was to tie them to structures so they have a decay rate. Obtaining said add-ons would be a combination of community involvement and massive resource costs to 'construct' the add-ons.

I would love to see an option (huge gold sink) for addition to a 'guild town gate' that could have it's own gump, not unlike the normal town gate menu. However, this will ONLY display player towns that have paid the upkeep to stay on the menu. Not sure what the ideal locations for said gates would be, but perhaps only in a few major towns, like Britain, Occlo, Moonglow? or just on the outskirts of town anyway.

I kinda wish moongates were old school and you had to look at the phases of the moon to figure out where you were going to end up!

Absolutely agree and have personally spoken out against the Trammel Gate Gumps myself. It makes it terribly inconvenient when chasing someone through them.

They should just be renamed Towngates because they have literally nothing at all to do with moons anymore, short of their origins.

Yeah - the 'elevator' idea never flew with me. I'm an old school Ultima player. Even with the introduction of Trammel, initially it wasn't like this and you had to use those moonstones to get from one facet to the other....

Sadly, I don't think they'll ever be removed here. Some things us old schoolers are just going to have to cope with, like ethereals and blessed runebooks too. Both of which I have because there was no beating the addition, so I might as well embrace it. lol

Yes, we all know the easy way is preferred by many because challenge and learning is far too much to ask.

Instead of Moongates, I'd like interestingly themed teleport spots. They are less of a glaring eye sore. (did i just call a moongate an eyesore?)

well, a few moongates here and there aren't bad, but imagine them popping up all over the place?

Far less obnoxious would be special rune tiles that denote a teleportation spot. These could still be tied to Blaises "town" gates, but would be a one way trip to the guild towns. The guild towns would just have a tile where you arrive.

The 'town' gates gump as Blaise called it, could have a sub-menu set apart from the regular public moongates, which would have an added warning "This will be a one way trip to a town established by players outside of the guardzones. Proceed at your own risk"

Perhaps just a player town teleporter 'station' outside of town already. Like a train station and players have to pay upkeep to have a sign and teleport tile that takes you to their town, one way trip, no return portal/teleport pad.

Nifty ideas, would be cool to see.
