Smooth trading with you Lutz, thank you. Listen to no one except me and you will be awarded a lifetime respect! Retire as a Salty Tuna Slayer and Critical Detective @Air

A sweet, juicy, and fun public idoc instead of a boring auction for tuna and the community!

I do agree that ultimately this will end up making the rich richer. I dont think that there are very many groups that could pool to buy this, it's a small list.

I like the suggestion of some kind of event where anybody can take part.

That said, I also acknowledge the fact that my opinion was not asked for, nor does it really matter.

I think you have left a great mark on the server. We never really crossed paths aside from a couple faction fights some months ago. I think that as a player, you have had an amazing UO life. Enjoy the next chapter, and thank you for being a part of the experience that everybody here enjoys.

There is no way to get everyone to agree on the proper way to distribute items/wealth.

This is my conclusion, and I will give a small explanation.

    "Stuff" = Houses, items, rares

I know only a very few individuals could buy this, and maybe only a few more small groups. In doing so that person/group will likely need to get more liquid by selling off "stuff" fairly quickly creating some forum activity/potential to sell some under valued items.

***My Hope*** A few groups attempt to gather the funds, creating a larger influx in items for sale, and a competition for the prize seeing it as an investment with the potential to make more.

Once a person/group purchases it, they will cherry pick the "stuff" they want, and then be required to spend time trying to reclaim the money spent on the purchase. Leading to lots of forum activity in some potentially high value items(which is the trickle down effect to everyone else) during a general down time of the summer.

With the resulting gold/plat/hcoin/ethreal/runebooks/xmas scrolls being deleted from the sale, the potential demand is increased for those things **Hopefully*** I know I don't have enough crap to change it to much.

Plus, Its minimal effort by me, which i feel in turn should/could? benefit the server. Again, this is just my Hope, and could play out completely different.

Anyways here is a small list of some Pretty valuable items that will in included to help spark some interest:

Clothing - Flamaing Sandals, 1150 sandals, 2nd Ann Orange Sandals, 4th Ann Yellow Sandals, 22 Cupid

Uniques - Pile of skulls with spikes, Post with a shackle, 2 Piece Plough, Gravestone, Beehive w/ bees

Plat rewards - 450 carpet pieces, 2x cannons, 3x full bookcases, fire pit, blood pentagram, sandstone fountain, 30+ potted plants and cacti

Axe slayer set - Pretty much a Vanq and power of every super slayer all axes, and then 3-5 force/mights of each slayer (axes) I used overworld.

That was one of the most shamefull moments of UOR history.
They didint dropped the house, they only gated a couple of event promoter friends inside while a bunch of newbs was trying to survive outside without understand what was happening while a SoF crew was showing off how great they are outside..

(edit) i support anything that anywone wants to do with their stuff... in my opinion i would just change the title from retirement, to "super sale" or something like this... i always interpretate retirement posts as invitation to anothers leave the shard to another place.

Can someone unpack this? Ive read it 4 times and still don't know what hes talking about unless he means that he doesn't feel like breaking things apart and he is going to proceed with selling it all under one auction.

If that's the case then what do you mean there isn't a general consensus? It seems that literally everyone in the thread agrees that the premise to sell it all off in one auction is a poor decision and will only help the rich get richer.

It's your stuff, do what you want. I don't care and I wont be bidding on any of it anyway as I have all but removed my gold from the trade forum due to a few shady characters.

<<< And I liked the general message and advertising of a project like - come and you have a chance! After all, he at least instilled hope, and then reality followed.

Someone with a sense of hope brought profit, and someone was left overboard. I grabbed a couple of bags and rushed to run, but my friends killed and tore me up. Finding me later, they returned what I was carrying and said - we had to do this so that the peasants would know their place!

For me it sounded wild and it dawned on me that among my good friends there are also very salty and bad guys revolutionaries and anarchists. But hope she was there. And here I will remain a spectator, like many others ...

Undoubtedly, Mr. Lutz is doing everything right, it cannot be wrong, because these are his things.

Naturally, in my words there is no sympathy and I just chat before a great family vacation. But the hope was sweet ...

:kiwi: for you my friend ;)

@Kiryana you know you are my favorite kiwi pudding ...
i will always suport a public IDOC... is just that pic that brought me so many bad memories... i was like a kid waiting hours for the candy shop to open... something that not happened.. was a memorable moment but could be better if they really dropped the house with all that stuff.

    :)

Never met this Lutz fella, but his vast wealth is apparently giving my lower-middle class bank account the good ol' "how's yer father". I was just told by a potential buyer of my LARGEST item that, in light of the upcoming Lutz auction, they're going to refrain from making any large purchases.

So, @Arnold Lutz , thank you.

It’s interesting to see how this has affected the UO economy. Big hitters selling stuff. Bargains to be had but also a bad time to sell as the big hitters are hoarding/gathering liquid gold.

What a wonderful game. Lord British would be proud.
