I was asked about loot. The only loot I want is the "Mask of the Wilds". Of course I have no way to enforce this, but I ask that if this drops, it goes to the owner of the scroll (me!). All other loot - gold, platinum, knight's strongbox, ancient ruined painting, whatever - would I guess be first-come, first-serve.
Of the 4 slots you have filled, do you have people who have done the quest, know what they are doing, and can complete if the other 6 have no idea what's going on?
I've done it once. I'm sure others have. I'll chat with some folks beforehand and take up the "guide" role if needed, but I don't think it's that hard. Say "all kill", help heal others' pets, don't be dumb, try to isolate, etc.
Finding 10 non dumb people on this server is a challenge of its own, but you are right, the quest is pretty simple as long as everyone knows what to do.
one spot left, then will open a waitlist. Will get the cash from everyone in the next 7 days or so, and if not will open up their slot.
I'll buy up the last slot. I really don't need a slot but I want to go. I've done 10 of these so far. 7x for slots. 3x as a guild quest. I'm a team player, I listen and do what I'm told by the group leader. So I don't need a slot but I'd like to go, if you allow me to go without taking a slot can we compromise on how much I'd pay? I don't care about the rares, I'll give them to you and I won't go near the treasure chests. Look at the leader board for spectral rabbits and jungle titans and I'm second on both. Trying to catch up with Ezzenglade !!
Maybe Telamon can add a tool in game for them to record a guide automatically, you know, easy the way KTT likes it.
Anyone is welcome to join for free if they just want to kill some stuff and go on a fun quest. To be fair to the paying customers, I think it's fairest to leave them the chests and rares and such. I won't put you down for that last slot then, since it looks like I can fill it with someone who wants the bonding slot.
All slots taken. As mentioned above, I'll collect this week to guarantee spot. Anyone not paid by this time next week will be replaced. Stragglers are indeed welcome to join for fun & gold, but as mentioned please leave the rare goodies for the folks who paid for the bonding slots. Looking forward to this!
I'm in for a spot. EDIT: Missed it by a second looks like! Add me to the waiting list. I'd still be interesting in just going to kill stuff if a spot doesn't open.
Easy for KTT? That's rich coming from you Blaise. Aren't you the same guy that has Telamon put teleporters from the banks to your house so you can run resist events? I remember the scavenger hunt from last year; weren't two of the locations up by your house? If anyone has gotten special "easy treatment", it has been you. As far as a guide, its real simple: Everyone have multiple dragons in stable in case of multiple wipes. The first time we did it (after watching Blaise's video), we all had about 10 dragons each in the stable. Regs are important as well. All heals and cures on pets need to come from spells, not bandages. When the first boss is pulled, take out the adds that poison first. Make sure you kite it south east in order to avoid pulling the adds and boss from stage 2. If you get stage two while fighting stage 1, you can still win, but everyone has to be throwing heals and rezzes. If someone dies, get them up as quickly as possible in order to make sure their pets are attacking the right things. Stage two is easy as well, take out all adds, keep 1 person on boss, just like stage 1. When all the adds are down, group up on boss. Stage 3 is simple as long as only 1 person attacks the boss. If you can get disco off on the main boss, it makes that stage go more quickly. But yes, as mentioned above, discoing the rabbits is good. If you are GM, you might fail once or twice on a rabbit, and expect to fail 4 or 5 times on the boss. My first time discoing the boss, it happened on first try, but second time took a few tries. Have about 300 healing regs on each character. The mask has a 1 in 3 chance in dropping (our calculation based on number of masks we have vs how many times we have completed it). Statues have a chance to drop as well, and the painting is possible as well. The pec meat is hit and miss. One time we did it and got 11 meat, next time 2. Plat is flexible too, once we walked out with over 20, but another time less than 6. The weapons in the chests are mostly junk from what we have seen.
Thanks, that's really helpful. I'm going to make a couple of additional suggestions too. One is that people should pair up. It's impossible for everyone to pull up health bars of every other person. But I'd suggest each person picking a buddy, and having health bars for their own 2 dragons, their buddy's 2 dragons, and their buddy themself. I'd suggest staying mounted; the extra damage from a nightmare is not worth the lack of mobility. And then just work with your buddy to keep pets fully healed. Firebreath is based on current HP, and is the source of much of the damage you do to these enemies, so keeping pets healed to full is extra important. With the buddy system, each individual should prioritize curing themselves (if poisoned) over healing themselves. Same with pets. That way your buddy can focus purely on firing off Greater Heals if needed. I had an OK time using bandages in the first run I did. I can't imagine how you could do this with just magic healing.
Honestly, Pothead told us that using bandages increases the aggro from the boss when we ran it the first time. He had done with previously with another group, and he is a trusted member of KTT, so we believed him and we have never tested the idea. You can take as many people into the quest as you want, so we always take like 15+ members. But yes, only 10 can get the bonding slot. With 30 dragons, 5 or so people off their mares, and 15 people throwing heals, we haven't had any problems. These last 4 times (2 last saturday and 2 last sunday) I took my disco provo tamer and was able to disco most of the adds and bosses and it was a cake walk. This is why I suggested to Telamon that we have a chance to raise the difficulty. At the time of starting the quest, maybe like a Easy / Medium / Hard mode options. Keep what's there as easy. Up the game a little for medium. And spawn more adds for hard mode. If I am on when you do the quest, and you want a person to come along to help organize, I will make the same offer that Artex did.
