I am merely a voice..a vessel for communication. Count the steps and you will notice ONE small problem in this pipe dream you are selling.

I'm confused, is there a difference between Gideon holding houses until he sells them at a profit, and Qaddafi holding houses until he sells them at a profit?

Your goal is to hold it ransom to gouge another group out of money. You even stated your intention of holding them "ransom".

You should be insulted for acting like that.

Lots of people sell rare housing or housing in specific areas for high prices. People buy them for those prices because they want the rare housing.

When I sell a castle at 2x the deed it's because there are no more castle spots, and so far people have bought them. I have never intentionally placed a house to "hold someone ransom"

Good luck in your sale :)

Sure you have. You placed the castle with no intent on using it yourself, but purely so you could sell it for a lot of gold. Whether you call it ransom, gouging, or capitalism, it's the same exact thing that Gideon is doing.

At least he decorates his sheep farms nicely. I think this thread could use more tears. Anyone else?

This is why we need housing limits per account. (Selling a crappy swamp castle for a mil over deed is just as bad as holding plots to gouge someone who is placing large houses to sell for a mil over deed) With the pop here, I feel that a new player should be able to run around and find keep spots with no trouble as soon as they save the gold.

Why not implement a trammel facet while were at it.

We do need more restrictions on home ownership and it has nothing to do with Trammel. One person choking up 15 home locations and not actively using them, is a problem for the community.
I would have no problem with a 5 houses per household limitation, if not more strict. It likely won't ever be more harsh than 10, with the old folks grandfathered in, but restrictions there are relevant.

Being able to hold 15 houses and make obscene profit with no risk off of players who'd like to own a large house is more trammel than housing limits. (Which were in place on OSI before trammel) don't cry cause your cash cow is being criticized

I thought the 2 per act limit someone suggested was reasonable.

2 per account would be dandy. Personally I start getting anxiety whenever I have more than 5 homes to worry about. I only have one primary residence, two smalls for personal joy and a few guild properties (guild hall, training building and the community vendor mall in Yew).
