hi all, i'm new to this shard, been away from UO for around 6 - 8 years, was previously a player on UO:Hybrid (I went back to check the forums and it seems like its a new place now) and UO:R is the closest version of UO i can find online that makes me want to play again i just have one question before i finally start to play i've decided on my main template (everyone needs to make money before they can pvp right) Taming Lore Vet Magery Med Music Disc do you gain skill faster here if your total skill points is further away from the 700 CAP ? if so, i suppose i have to GM taming and lore before i move to music and disc while locking the rest of the skills ?
Welcome! Your skills will raise at the same rate. Skill gain is quicker than original uo and made easier that you can legally macro any skill that doesn't generate resources (mining, lumber) etc. I would recommend a forum search for taming guides. It is an art by this point, people have it down to 2-3 days. Raising taming first can help you gain discord on your tamed, even though it is an aggressive action now. thank you, i went to discord and seek some advice, i guess i will make do with a dex/provo to gain a foothold pve before investing in a tamer gonna use my first 1,000 to GM provoke see you guys in game soon

Welcome to UOR!! Yeah, provo dexxer is the way to go for a starter, taming is costly with the bond slots and gm magery!
