Hey UO:R Community, We're excited to announce the first expansion client patch for UO:Renaissance! This will be a general overview of some of the changes with detailed posts to follow. Ancient MIB Redesign Building on the success of the existing AMIB system, the 4 existing AMIBs have been redesigned including changes to the maps, new pirates and monsters to fight and new rewards and rares to earn. On top of the four redesigned AMIBs, we added one brand new AMIB that can only be accessed after completing the first four that will offer a unique experience! Doubloon Currency As you fight you way through the AMIBs, you have a chance to find a new currency called doubloons. Save them up to purchase items at the reward vendor outside of Papua! Pirate Bay Abandoned Lighthouse Uncovered Ruins Derelict Ship Mysterious Cavern Faction Base Redesign In the first step in a larger faction rebalancing effort, the bases for Minax, Council of Mages, Shadowlords and True Britannians have been redesigned. While each base is unique in style and location, several factors have been considered in the designs so that one base doesn't provide a faction any significant advantage over another faction. Minax The Minax base has been relocated just north of Trinsic. This base is unique as it goes underground and is supported by 2 large guard towers on both sides of the rock island. Council of Mages The Council of Mages is still located in the same location in Magincia and has been expanded east to accommodate it's larger size and balance it out compared to the other bases. Shadowlords The Shadowlords base has been relocated just north of Yew in a waterlogged fortress. True Britannians Lord Blackthorn's castle is still the main base for True Britannians, however the base has been modified to match the three other bases in terms of balance both inside and outside of the base. New CTF Maps New new CTF maps have been created, both found around the new islands in J'Fer Sek. Ocllo Updates Expanding on the new player focused patch last year, Ocllo has seen additional changes to further enhance the new player experience. Two Orc Forts The Orcs have rebuilt their bases off the main road going west out of Ocllo and along the north coast. The rumors among the people who live on Ocllo is that they've started going underground. New Path Around Island To help guide new players around the island, the Ocllo City Council earmarked gold for the construction of a path around the whole island. Zookeeper Quest For many years, the Zookeeper area was setup outside of Papua. They have now since moved to the southeast corner of T2A. Learn more about the new location and the quests, including images, check out the overview here: https://www.uorforum.com/threads/the-zookeeper-quest-update.53347 T2A Lost Lands The Lost Lands were built in 3 months by the team at OSI. While the area is part of the early history of UO and it's important to preserve that history, many issues were left behind. In another first step in a larger plan to utilize the Lost Lands, the whole map has seen multiple changes. Pirates The pirates have invaded some of the surrounding areas around the AMIBs in the northern part of T2A, as well as some new small islands to explore. New Islands New islands have emerged from the depths of J'Fer Sek! Player housing will be available in the future (post-release) through a raffle system (more details to come). Paths, Water & Mountains Many hours of work have been put into the T2A map on things that most players will probably never notice, which is a good thing, compared to when you notice issues on that map. The work really focused on cleaning up T2A and fixing areas they missed. Nearly all the paths in T2A have been flattened, to match the style found in Delucia. This should make traveling around T2A a much more natural and pleasant experience. All of the main waterways have had their water converted to the newer translucent water found through Britannia. And finally, many random pointy mountains, floating trees and other weirdness has been cleared up. More issues do exist, just when I think I fixed them all, I find a bunch more so please report them if you see them. Over time, The Lost Lands will continue to evolve as the UO:R staff finds new ways to utilize it and all the unused potential it has to offer. A
I like all the changes but this one not so much. I think the bumpy roads are more in tune with the hilly nature of the Lost Lands.
Cant agree with that @Zyler, roads should be a symbol of traveled areas. Any traveled path is always more flat then its surroundings. I think every change is 110% awesomeness! An update to t2a on this scale is not just a landmark in UOR history, but a true accomplishment for the map maker. Well done @Quick !
It is a minor change and maybe helps movement graphics using CUO... idk I think all the other changes are great and everything that @Quick has done Inconsequential and just a comment from a semi-purist
Would be really great if dubloons were the island home raffle currency. Would give more people a chance, and encourage more participation.
if the new islands are based on doubloons, and those come from AMIBS.. AMIBS!!!!!!! | UO:R Forums (uorforum.com) might be time to hoard em?
