Ive started doing large amounts of mibs. im not good at , nor do i want to automate it too much, so I do it this way. To start, the more MIBs the better, i started with about 350 I divide the 180 degrees of lat/long into 5 sections 36 degrees apart 0-36 36-72 72-108 108-144 144-180 I set up a grid of 5x5 bags wow this is hard to explain ok so the northern row starts on the left with a red bag (1), that is 0-36 the orange bag to the right (2) is 36-72 yellow (3) is 72-108 green (4) is 108-144 blue (5) is 144 -180 the rows going up and down are the same sets of numbers on to the sorting the mib displayed is 113,12 n x 74,23 w for this part we only need the 113, and the 74 the rest dont matter right now so the 113 is between 108 and 144, so it is green, or number 4 on the chart i would drag it to hover over the green bag in the top row, without dropping it then look at the other number, 74 its between 72 and 108 so yellow or number3 on the chart. so i go domn the row to row 3(yellow) and drop it there always use the first number for the top row,and the second number for the up/down rows, and sort away you will have them sorted in 36 tile squares But wait Einar, you fool!! theres 4 directions in each bag!! yes there is BUT the outside rows all have touching boundries! hmm you say? i did the far right row last night they are all the largest north south direction grab that top right blue bag pull out all the north west, and north easts, thats two of the 4 areas in that bag i then line em up in a bag north one side south the other, and write em all down manually( you only need the first number of each direction, and not the letters) so a sorted bag should look like this, n/w lined up on the left s/w lined up on the right, the coordinates written down n/e and n/w are stacked on the bottom for later sorting the high coordinate of north rolls over touching the high coordinate of south, so two groups are right there you can figure out how to do them here based on their grouping, i usually didnt have to go more than 20 tiles to fish a mib and often two in the same spot ( you can be roughly 3 tiles away in both directions and fish a mib) now heres tha magic, while fishing sort the souths for this group in another bag, take them back to the sorting room,and place them where they came from then go get the orange bag and repeat the sorting process, while fishing the blue bag. when you are done with the blue bag, you are right next to the orange bag you just sorted.do that one, continue sorting ahead, and placing all the souths back in the sorting room keep going down the line of bags, doing all the norths. When you get to the bottom of the row, the bag at the top of the row is all the souths sorted and next in line. basicly run a row of bags, from the any outside row of the sorting room, and you can run down it twice ? because they touch /are circular?? i havent figured out a pattern on the center bags yet, im just going to keep doing the outside rows till they get fuller I hope that made some kind of sense lol
I something similar. Except with fewer crates. I use a 4 by 4 grid. Easier to divide everything by 90 degrees than the 36 you do. 16 containers are still able to handle 2000 MiBs. Easy to go greater than 90 degrees west is that column and less than 90 degrees south so it's that row. It flows very easily rather than having to calculate by 36 degrees. Not knocking your technique as I use it myself, just saying you can streamline it a bit.
brave running around with chests on your deck of the boat, one Kraken can break all the chests, i put them in bags now.
yeah i started with bigger grids, (3-50's and one 30')but having around 400 mibs, they were way to spread out for me at the time * im tempted to go down to 20' grids hmm? how's that? I've pulled a few shipwreck krakens and nothing happened? was i just lucky? I am peacing them and using my mare if that matters
Ive had the krakens get up on the deck of the boat, They will break any chest in their way on the deck of the boat. @JohnM i bet could say more about it
i did mibs with 3 chars - 1 fishing up the chest, the other two fishing for more and also, these two would pre sort the regs, scrolls, gems, gold from each chest. Also, drop the chests into a pouch on the deck. As for sorting, i would first sort into quadrants - NE, NW, SE, SW. Then, depending on how many i had, i would sort again into bags as little as 15 degree increments to 30 degree increments.
i think im liking the idea of doing n/s/e/w using 20 degree sorting of the north/south coordinent, and just running a line east and west so it would be 9 bags, with 4 quadrants. using a 20 ' group, and the 3' degree fudge factor, youd only have to move 14 tiles back and north and south, while following the line east or west, I was using a second fisherman, but i now agree sorting/selling as i go is good, id spend an hour plus selling afterwards
am i interpreting things incorrectly? while fishing a mib, and getting tons of wreckage, my deckhand had been getting the no fish message, and fished up a serp. question, is there still a chance to get serps/krakens , after the fish are all fished out? because his last message was no fish, then he got a serp, did i just get a good draw exactly as the fish in that area respawned? i wasn't using the third fisher because i didn't think there was a chance to fish serps/krakens once the fish were gone , and i fished the spots out quickly that way, should i keep fishing them with all three too?
I always fish with my other 2 fishers the whole time im doing the MIBs, gotten alot more serps that way.
ok i broke down and started using cuo, its awesome i now sort my mibs by the first coordinate n/s in 20 degree increments. so 9 bags 0-20 20-40 etc i sorted 650, my fullest bag had 99, this is what it looks like it goes really easy sofar
a run of 88 mibs got me 230k cash from the chests and serps 140k from selling the gems scrolls armor and weps about 500 ea reg a bag and a half of wands 6 full bags o shipwreck junk, i gave away 2 cubed the other 4, got 1400 copper fished up 18 nets 7 mibs 11 tmaps took 9 hours to fish 2 to sort/sell
