Ex-UOSA player here, UOR is Second Age perfected pre '03. It's also the final resting place of many UO Outlands players who realized Outlands is an outrageous custom and chaotic non-UO experience. UOR is the purest form of UO we all remember most.

Cornelius, quit around 2015, only started UOR in 2021, & only after seeing outlands hype and hearing about updates to CUO. Tried Outlands and was disgusted like utterly shocked at the visual/mechanical rape of UO and how so many play it... Did not get it.

It's something new, and the massive amount of players that you won't find outside of 1999 - 2000 UO. I enjoy the boating / pirating content there although they recently took away the ability of other players to boat on a ship and actually do something aside from the ship captain. Outlands took a LOT of getting used to.... with the new monsters and stuff. My biggest gripe is how it constantly changes. I think they could let things simmer a bit before adding new mechanics and content every few weeks. But I keep one foot in UOR as well, can't beat the original map and nostalgia and I often point people in this direction who miss that.

I'd be happy with bringing my friends from OL and LL here. That would be my perfect mixture. My friend Grofus once said something to the effect that he didn't care what server it was, but all UO players need to come together. I wish it were possible because he's right.

Edit: Realized I left out my friends left at SA, but I don't think I have any friends left there.

Yeah its a different spin on things, its lore taking place after a cataclysm. Not the Brittania we are used to. It might be trammely as far as all the outfit and accessories, but you wont go far into dungeons without risk of pks for sure. I wish UOR could adopt some of the QoL features but I know UOR has to stick somewhat to the era. CUO allows for so many nice clothing customizations... my pirate there looks very badass!

As good as the map might be, still can't beat the original map. I just wish UOR would fix the music regions as in the original where the tavern music would play and the music won't loop annoyingly. I miss walking into the taverns and hearing them.

I actually had another helpful person who showed me an open spot there already. Thank you for your offer!
