Hey guys, I'm new to UO and just left Occlo for the first time on my provo fencer. I headed to liches south of Yew and farmed about 9k and all the scrolls I sold for about 1k more; I felt like I spent a lot of extra time looting the scrolls though. Do most people just loot gold and maybe magic items as a rule or loot everything? I'll have to return to town more often if I lot everything but maybe that's normal? Maybe there's a more efficient way of looting that I'm not aware of so I'm not spending so much time click dragging on every mob when others are on their way to come kill me? Thanks for all your help!!
A quick way of looting would be setting one of the restock agents in Razor to have gold and anything else you want in it. Set a hot key for that and when you kill something just hit that hot key and target the pack that's on their corpse. To set that up click on the "Agents" tab in Razor then use the pull down menu to select "Restock-1" (or whatever one you want to use). Click on "Add Target" and target gold. Set the number to something like 50000. Then do the same for any scrolls & gems you want to loot. Next go under "Hot Keys", go to the "Agents" section under there, choose the Restock-1 (or whichever one you used) and set it to a hot key. For things that drop scrolls I usually only loot certain scrolls that I try to keep a good stock of for use on other chars (gate, recall, mark, magic reflect, blade spirit, all the 8th circle scrolls, etc). That way I don't end up with scrolls weighing me down. Make sure to bank often even if you're not overburdened so if a PK does show up and kills you, you don't lose too much.
I loot everything. But, use the scrolls to add to spell books, sell the junk weapons armor or have my smith smelt them down. Think we all have our own way of looting. One thing to do so you don't leave a trail of bodies to alert others you are there. First click on your dagger, than traget the kill, loot everything from body, including meat. than click on your dagger again, target the body, it will vanish. and welcome to UOR
scrolls stack anything that stacks is part of an organizer agent when I recall/gate out for a loot drop off to the bank/keep bank organizer 1 recall/gate back to spawn 1 kill kill kill recall spawn 2 kill kill kill recall spawn 3 kill kill kill back to bank organizer 1 restock 1 recall/gate back to spawn 1 now what weapons/armor is worth lugging around is up to you I only loot the top dps two and one handed of each weaponskill type ID'd by my "squire" alt g'luck
Thanks for all the quick replies! I'll have to get a restocking macro set up for ease. I wasn't thinking about recalling so frequently because I figured you fill all you can carry first but I guess that is a dangerous game to play lol.
if my loot passes 7-10k in value I generally bank and return. if you have a good organizer and restock macro you can gate to a bank dump and restock if needed and take the same gate back.
Looting depends if another spawns right away it might not be worth it to loot all of the items. Lower level scrolls aren't really worth it to me. Could fight the next spawn while you loot if efficient. It does add up looting scrolls and gems most of the time. You can use a sell agent as well set to five items per sale to an NPC.
Hey there Ikibahd! Welcome to UOR. Like, others have said, a restock agent will make looting 10x more efficient. Best to get one or two up right away ( I have a few : one for regular mob loot, one for T-map and AMIB loot, one for restocking my regs and potions at the bank). Also, remember that you can drag entire piles of things by holding Shift while you click and drag, so you dont have to choose the quantity. For my standard mob loot it take gold, regs, gems, potions, select scrolls (recall, gate, magic reflect, mark, and a few others depending on circumstance). I only take a few types of weapons. I generally dont take armor, as I dont have a smith. I do, however, carry a 100+ ID wand on me and will ID things right there and decide to take or not. PLEASE contact me, or someone else, if you need an ID wand. Super easy to get. ALSO you joined up at a really good time! We have a major Halloween event coming up soon called Night of Horrors. Having a restock agent for this event is essential. Also your provodexxer will be great for the event, assuming you have the correct build (Weapon, anat, tactics, healing, music, provo, one other of your choice.). For the event make SURE you have all the types of potions on your restock agent, as potion drops are crazy in the event. I have a huge supply of potions in my bank because of this event. Finally, with the restock agent, it will prioritize what items it grabs first, based on the order in which you add them to the agent, which is also represented by the list in the agent window. The top item being the most prioritized, and so on. So keep that in mind. On my regular mob restock, platinum is first, then gold, then whatever else....However on my NoH restock, bandages are first, then my weapon of choice, and so on. My mage has a different set up, as you might imagine. And yes, join IRC and get to know us. See you in game. ~Krake
I tend to not loot gems + scrolls + any of that practically worthless crap. I'm of the opinion that I can usually move to another monster, kill it, and loot it's gold for more profit... than I would spend looting/sorting/selling the garbage. I used to loot ALL UNID'd items and dump them at my house as CUB + Item ID working on entire containers made this worthwhile... but I can't be bothered sorting 10+ containers of 125 unID'ed items anymore. I did find it therapeutic at one time though; so to each their own.
Does anyone have a list of all items that we can add via text to copy/paste to our agents/organizers?
<<<Do not be lazy to work a little, because these lists are individual, like shopping in a surmarket. I doubt that we drink the same wine.
