Cartography

How is cartography working here and how can I train it to GM?

If you wonder why I am asking this.. I am totally new to cartography and looked up in the skill section of the compendium. There it's descriped to "use" the skill cartography and click on a blank map. I did so and got the message, that this skill could not be used directly. Actually one have to "use" the mapmakers pen and have a blank map in the backpack for the crafting menu to pop up.

You need mapmakers pens and blank scrolls,you can gain to 99.5 making maps this way.

It took me 12,000 scrolls to go from 33.0 real to 99.5 real.

Did you start at 50 skill or purchased up to about 30?

It took right around 15,500 scrolls to get from 30ish to 99.5 for me!
