    I recommend you use the irc channel to keep in touch with everyone while you are playing. It will also help you become aware of shard events and mechanics.

    Also, the young player program is not only for new players to ultima. There is plenty to do on the island (form killing rats to blood elementals) and it seems to be a very successful way to get started.

    You picked the right place to start over at. Amazing economy and TONS of interested new content that will keep you busy for a darn long time. I've been here 6 months and haven't even scratched the surface of all the new content I want to try out. As others have said, IRC is the best way to stay in touch with everyone and learn the particulars of this server. The main channel is designed to be a place where you can ask questions, and I have never been in an irc channel that is filled with such a helpful and knowledgeable community.

    it is BY FAR better than original UO. I can't believe I'm ever saying that about a freeshard but this one definitely exceeds OSI.
