New old player question about ID

Is there any way to ID a magic item through a vendor? I know that I can train the skill, but do not currently have a house and trying to transfer items from one char to another is tedious. I thought from playing years and years ago that a jeweler could id stuff for you.... Thanks for any replys.

Also, forgot how much more enjoyable this game is versus any other MMO is ever....

Only two ways I know of how to ID:

1 - Use a 'magic wand of item identification'.
2 - Use the Item ID skill.


If you are GM Item ID, you can identify an entire container of weapons & armor all in one click.

Is that skill difficulty based or not?

It is not, or at least you can GM item ID by just repeatedly using the skill on your newbie dagger.

Hint: If you have GM ID and another Char has Crap to ID on another account. Bring up the Crap holders Paperdoll with your ID Guy and then ID his Bag, (that sounds soooo wrong).
