It is our pleasure to report that Hydrox, Citizen of Stormhold was hereby audited this morning and found guilty of tax evasion. As you may know, the penalty for tax evasion under RRG law is death upon sight and immediate forfeit of all accessible available goods during sentencing. Any party present, such as a horse, is considered an accomplice and such crime is also punishable by death. Sentencing was immediately carried out upon his second story floor in his place of residence. On a positive note, family members need not travel to pick up his remains, as they are scattered upon the second story throw rug. As well, a large, expensive coffin is not required, as he may now be packed into multiple small boxes. Citizens of Stormhold are urged to pay their taxes to the currently appointed gracious Lord Lewis at the Robber's Roost Gang Tax Collection Outpost located at the center of town in Stormhold. Failure to do so will result in the continuing audits of Stormhold Citizens in the same manor. Previous audits have taken place numerous times to no avail in regards to taxes paid. I'm Curly Sue of the RRG Tax Division and I approve of this message.
Sitting in the Tavern as Curly makes his announcement old Bates takes a pull on his tankard and makes a sour face. "I paid my taxes, didn't do me alot of good, now I have a fresh crowd claiming they own the mines I sent my crew into, last night they were attacked by swanK, they managed to kill him off, but he came back again today and this time he slaughter my crew. The foreman, after lengthy discussion, finally managed to buy back two of the three most valued tools so that they could get back to work, but now I have to pay taxes to two groups." he pauses, shakes a bit of salt into his ale to raise the head again and takes another pull. "T'aint right, is all I'm saying. they both claim to own the mine, I'm just trying to make an honest living for me and my men. With the cost of recovering the gear we could, plus the cost of re-outfitting the men again, it'll be a damned tight month" Bates shakes his head, looking tired and frustrated.
Hey there Bates. I believe you ran into a couple of the newer Gypsies of Fire Isle. I will be sure to give them a good lesson on our philosophical beliefs. The Gypsies claim ownership of no mines. The Gods own the mines. SwanK owns an unlimited amount of war hammers however and old Gregg is a notorious extortionist.
