    SOON™

Rumor has it the moats (water tiles) will be free and an option via the house menu, similar to how disabling the CY works now.

The actual bridge will be a plat reward that will cost anywhere from 500-1000 plat depending on who you ask. The bridge will be a deed you purchase from the plat vendor and then page Telamon to have it built in your CY.

With the insane amount of plat floating out there I would have assumed that a sink like this would be at the top of the "being worked on" list. I know that on day 1 it's going into my CY.

Also, mainly because I'm super jelly, I don't agree with any one person having this moat "for testing", or otherwise, on the live server. I thought that's what the dev or test servers were for.

Thanks for the info Cynic. From what you have heard, will you be able to recall onto your moat, or will having a moat require front door entrance?

moats should be free to compensate for faulty exploitable mechanics due to delayed housing implementation

We should be able to run a boat mining operation and amib factory from our moats.

Rumor has it you'll be able to essentially have a 100% secure CY with moat + drawbridge. Don't quote me on this, I do a lot of drunk irc'ing.

So can you mark runes on the drawbridge or something? They look really cool, but functionality wise I don't see how this is different than
    blocking the CY with boxes.

As I understand it, the water tiles will essentially give you a completely disabled CY where all previously marked runes will no longer work.

The drawbridge will allow you to mark onto and recall to, the drawbridge is considered new tiles in the CY so any marked runes under those tiles will not work. In the event your drawbridge runes get compromised you'll still be able to raise and lower the bridge which will turn recalling to the bridge off and on respectively.

I could be understanding this all wrong but I wouldn't pay a considerable amount of plat without it working just like this. As I see it, any other way would render this whole thing as just plain ol' decor.

People who have extremely compromised CY's, or people who just want peace of mind, would benefit from a system that essentially gives you a clean slate. For 1k plat I wouldn't expect anything less, otherwise I guess I'll be buying more runebooks.

This is how I understood it would work as well. The bridge would allow marking new runes and block old runes, essentially re-securing your CY. I also would not be inclined to spend the plat on anything less (although, I have 99.9% confidence in my CY)
