While this may be fun for some, it left a bad taste in my mouth. In order to encourage outrageous gifting and exchange of high value items for those interested at a level they are comfortable with, I devised a system that has a little bit of something for everyone. Hopefully, everyone can find a way to participate in the fun in whatever way you'd like. Therefore, I present the "2020 Tiered Secret Santa": ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tier 1: Mall Santa NO MINIMUM VALUE GIFT! Anything goes! Sign up here if you are new, broke, or just want to roll the dice. No gift is too little or big. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tier 2: Sexy Santa 500K GOLD MINIMUM VALUE GIFT! Sign up here if you have a gift worth at least 500k and want something worth 500k or over in return! This is balling on a budget. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tier 3: Giant E-Peen Big Balling Out of Control Santa 3 MILLION GOLD MINIMUM VALUE GIFT! Sign up here if you are pixel rich and want to be paired with someone else of large pixel stature. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In summary, Tier 1 is similar to the "traditional" Secret Santa. Anyone can participate regardless of whether it's your 1st day or 8th year on the server. You may get a fish steak. You may get something outrageous. The higher tiers are for people who want some sort of assurance and enjoy the idea of gifting something valuable to a player anonymously while getting something valuable in return. Now, here are some ground rules and how this will work... I will be solely responsible for collection and distribution of the gifts. Please arrange to meet me via discord PM. All trades will be done in event center if possible. Every gift will be logged and screenshotted. Picks will be assigned via randomizer and sent to all participants immediately. "Secret Santa 2020" plat trophies will be provided if possible @Chris @Samorite . You may sign up for one tier, both tiers, or all 3 tiers. Gift value will be determined by me alone based on #pricecheck, auction value, or general consensus. If any gift is deemed "lacking", the giver will have an opportunity to correct it. If they refuse or can not, they will be placed in the below category. Anyone who signs up and does not turn in their gift by the deadline will be publicly shamed and banned from any future Secret Santa that I host pending a public apology deemed acceptable by me. You will also forfeit your gift and the giver will have a chance to modify it for the new recipient, as I'm sure we will have people that want in and miss the deadline. It is encouraged that you take the time given between gifting assignments and turn in deadline to familiarize yourself with the player you are gifting to in order to create a personalized gift if possible. These are the most impactful. It is encouraged that you remain anonymous, though not required. Feel free to include a personalized note and be as creative as you want. Items such as pets, housing, placed boats, or anything you can think of are accepted. Have fun with it. I am taking volunteers to help fill in for anyone who does not turn in their gift on time. It's all good @Puck i was wondering how i was going to be able to do it this year as i don't seem to be able to spend as much time in game as i used to, I'm happy to pass on the torch
While I appreciate that somebody is trying to do this, I have to say, I do not like this format. Part of the fun of Secret Santa is that some peeps go all out and others get screwed. Its not about the value of what you gave. If you are doing this based on an expected return, you are doing it wrong. Having gifts assessed for value just isn't right imo. I dont like that people have to sign up based on their financial giving "class"
People are free to give giant gifts in lower tiers. This format is done to encourage larger gifts from people that know they will get a large gift in return. While this may not be in the "spirit" of the season, I think it's an interesting twist. It should make for some interesting gifts. Tier 1 is the normal format and the other tiers are there for those who choose to take part in them. People are free to take part in one, two, or all tiers. While I appreciate your feedback, I disagree. It's about whatever people decide it's about. There is no right or wrong, and the higher tiers should make this varied from previous years. Again, if you want "normal" Secret Santa, sign up for tier 1. I personally will be loading my tier 1 gift bag heavily as I expect others will.
i myself thing it is a cool idea , i have never been let down on the orig secret santa , all of my gifts were great and well all of the names i got were given great gifts , this is secret santa and not dirty santa , i am doing all 3 so i can partake in each level and brighten up the new players of the shard and to see what the other guys get me that is worth the minimum set price for the baller tier and when u get a name it is all about research and trying to find stuff that they like , so there for talking to the other people finding stuff out will let u get to know more people u never met in game or knew played . this is after all a game of Pixels and all these Pixels make people happy. Sharing is caring should be easy for all the BIG Ballers to be signing up for all 3 also it would be a blast
