how does the anniversary gear work? Is it a random distribution? Or is there a competition to get cool stuff like sandals and mask dye? Sorry, just curious, didn't see anything obvious out there on it.
Yes Clothing is randomly distributed, mask dye sandals are won through the scavenger hunt. I believe the anniversary is first week of Sept? Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
If you log in around the shard anniversary (Last year was 9/2/2016 to 9/10/2016) you will receive a bag with a few items in it. The bag will typically contain a piece of anniversary clothing, a piece of jewelry, a deed (CBD, hair restyle, beard restyle etc), and a fireworks wand. Rarely a player will also receive a pair of anniversary sandals in their bag, of the 12 anniversary bags (4 years/3accounts) that I've received, only one has had a pair of sandals and I know of players that have received none. Around the same time, Telamon hosts a shard-wide scavenger hunt where the prizes are usually anniversary sandals/mask dyes along with all sorts of other rarities.
