What is needed for the resist events? just MS regs or do you need bandages for ppl to heal? My playtime has been limited but I'd like to help w/ sullpies.
Regs and bandages are a must for the event. especially bandages. I look forward to this event, i have 2 that i need to send in.
resist event = game breaking bullshit that should of never been feasible especially as a consequence to other game breaking bullshit
O^S has received several generous donations of gold in order to run these events so the regs are all taken care of. We are happy to take donations of bandages or purchase them if anyone has large quantities for sale. We can easily go through 200k bandages in 24 hours so we need a lot!!
This could be said for almost any change that has been done to vanilla UO. The fact of the matter is, I'm a 34 year old with a family and a full time job (like most of the people who play here).. I don't have time to frolic in fire fields for days until I'm high enough to run around reaper valley for a month or two. We could also argue that the simple use of three accounts is "game breaking bullshit"... That didn't stop you from playing here or taking advantage of it, so why complain about a resist event?
My thoughts... EXACTLY!!! We seriously need a "whack a troll" game added here... And exactly how the hell is it game breaking? Meteor swarm always has divided its 50 hp of dmg between all targets evenly. I can remember retail servers many years ago, casting MS and CL on the melee fighters I had hired for working parry, I'm talking over 50 hired chars all disarmed, and the spells would take over a min to finish their graphical/audio effects. It was always something that amazed the shit outa ppl who hadn't ever seen it before. So to Earlkoing, you're really off base here...
Someone told me that MS only ever does 1 damage here though? (To avoid house killing) Is that correct? If we were really trying re-create UOR level accuracy we'd have anti-macro GMs banning all over the place. We'd also have a skill-gain system that limited gains when you were stationary. Am I the only one who had to use EasyUO to do the classic 8x8 boat/casting trick?
I did 8x8 using my uoassist and the 8x8 macroer program that monitored the gains and did the 1 forward thing. I know MS only does 1 dmg and will not kill players in a house, but not sure about hitting players with it outside of houses. I have used it on spawn and it did medium dmg to the targets. The goal of this server as stated by @Chris, who is the one running it, is to have a Ren style server with select advancements that were made in retail, based upon the change being an overall game improvement and not part of EA's trying to Trammelite the game. Basically, what changes he feels would have been added even if Tram had never been added and the game had been kept as a open pvp enviroment. I've seen no evidence that he is trying to recreate an exact "what the game was like" server, only something that is close and gives that same game play feeling.
I'd love to contribute to the band aids and regs when the time comes. I may be new around here, but I can pick cotton with the best of 'em. Thx for hosting the event when the time comes.
