I have been thinking about what type of changes can help melee/fighters out without boosting other classes. My first thought was of the dex impact armor creates. With mindblast creating a need for balanced stats, it furthers the impact of the dex hits and pretty much makes wearing anything other than studded questionable, unless you want to role play a knight in shining armor.

Blaise was kind enough to provide a list of armor types with AR/dex hits and what I determined need changes was only to the chest and leggings.

    Currently:

    Tunic - Dex Hit
    Plate - 8
    Bone - 6
    Chain - 5
    Ring - 2

    Legs
    Plate - 6
    Bone - 4
    Chain - 3
    Ring - 1

    Would like to be:

    Tunic
    Plate - 6
    Bone - 3
    Chain - 3

    Legs
    Plate - 3
    Bone - 2
    Chain - 2

I do not think Ring armor needs a change. Bone and Chain have the same AR range from 13-28 for tunic and 5-9 for legs (basic exceptional to invuln), I don't see why bone should be hit extra so I dropped it down even.

    Per set dex hit:
    Plate Set - was 20 now 15 = 5 savings!
Bone Set - was 13 now 8 (add 1 for plate gorget) = 5 savings!
    Chain+Ring Set - was 10 now 7 (add 1 for plate gorget) = 3 savings!
    Ring - 5 (add 1 for plate gorget) = 0 savings

I'm not gonna lie, despite my having been playing a bard/mage when I go PvM'ing lately, there is a large part of me that wants to run around on a dexxer in full valorite platemail. Would love to see these changes. You should add a poll to this thread!

I support this in the spirit of perfecting UOR and not in the spirit of era accuracy. The dex penalties are too harsh in my opinion.

Even though this would require 60 AR to see even a 1 pt MR increase, it sounds like the slippery slope that led to AoS-style itemization.

    *thumbs down*

I agree the dex penalties are a bit harsh, but with well balanced stats, -20 dexterity is not really a shocker. Especially considering basic logic dictating that wearing the equivalent weight of a small foreign car, for armor, would slow one down quite a bit. Maybe a slight dial down on the dex would be appropriate but I'd love to see some tests to really see where the benefit would end up. Perhaps adjusting the effects on the heal timer would suffice as an option.

However, even though AoS was trash, I would love to see the a lot of the armor/weapon bonuses in place if they only worked versus monsters. Otherwise, no thanks.

Could you go into more detail on this point? I don't really remember all the stuff that was introduced in AoS.
I'd like to see dexers get a little bit of a boost against monsters. Peace dexer was the first build I tried here and even though I could kill stuff like liches pretty easily, I really wasn't happy with the performance vs anything bigger than that. I'd like it if dexers were a bit more effective against monsters, though I'm happy with where they currently are in pvp.
