So I played a thief on Atlantic from like 1997 to 2002/2003. Recently the nostalgia bug hit and I came across this great server. I've been working on a character last few days trying to remember how everything works lol can anyone tell me if you can train wrestle in fighters pits still? Do you just drag gold on them? Thanks in advance
You can hire NPC's (Mages, Fighters, Paladins, Thieves and a few others!) by saying "<NPCName> Hire", the NPC will give you his price for 1 day of "work", which is usually a few hundred GP, you can then drop as much gold as you want on the NPC and he will "work" for you until the gold runs out.
Welcome aboard! There are a few great thieves here - are you making a thief? Get to know them if so!! @BlackEye @The Crooked Warden @snap dragon @SteelyDan @Jakob @Jack of Shadows
Welcome to the Shard and the game! Welcome to addiction! Just join the IRC channels, there you are usually served answers to anything.
Welcome home! Remember a few key things here like you can play 3 accounts at one time. So you can work multiple toons at once. Train healing/weapon skill on one toon while u train wrestling on your other! Good luck, lots of people here eager to help new players!
To the great sorrow of the people, I'm sure, the great Franz Pfniffel is not very active currently. The UO itch comes and goes, just like Gandalf. Or Franz Pfniffel!
Instead of hire a NPC, have 2 chars from 2 of your accounts to wrestle eachothers, which is best done if you are friended to a house of course, but that is how I trained all my chars and also trained with friends. I leave them locked in somewhere during the night an it is always nice to see the result later on the next time I pass the screen.
Welcome back! I played around the same time you did on Chessy. I've found that the game is every bit as fun here as it was back then, if not more so. The community is great here and the guides are extremely helpful. Someone showed me this when I first joined so here you go! http://uorforum.com/threads/one-guide-to-rule-them-all-one-guide-to-find-them.682/
