So as someone kinda new to the shard, I am trying to figure out what is [blessed] and what isn't, before I hopefully get enough coin to purchase a house before I rid myself of my [young] status. It is kinda difficult to work out whilst [young], as everything comes back upon resurrection, and the only times I have died so far(and trust me, I plan to correct this!) have come from a hitch in a macro when casting upon myself. I would appreciate corrections and feedback on my assumptions (partly due to research) thus far.

Spellbook = blessed? I assume so.
Runebook = not blessed, unless plat reward is used on it
Newbie clothing/items(from character creation) = blessed? I had an outfit for one character that I really wanted to traverse the world in, and it got destroyed in training :D
Boat = blessed when in miniature form (i.e. docked) but not blessed as a deed
Commodity deeds = no idea? This is something I am very curious about for trades, especially if thieves are about (or I suck and die somehow)
'Checks' (that's spelled 'cheque' where I come from!) = blessed, not blessed? If not, are they a stealable item?
    Housing deeds = ???

I understand clothing can be blessed via the tailoring BOD reward, clothing bless deed. This is a brief list off the top of my head, is there anything I am missing?

if you go murderer/red status your newbied items will no longer have the bless effect, and will drop with your corpse as normal items do..

Darn good info, thank you again!

Thank you. What if I just kill one...or maybe four people (obviously 'bad' people, who deserved it!) but am not red? Can I wait out my short terms and keep my newbie/blessed stuff?

But if a commodity deed is on a [young] player, then it cannot be stolen or looted from corpse, right? This is my main concern, as I am about to deed up a bunch of stuff to sell, so I can hopefully buy some tiny house in the 'real world' for when i leave Occlo :)

Thank you for the reminder of the distinction between blessed and newbied, that was what I was trying to ascertain.

I thought I read somewhere that housing deeds are only newbied for an hour? Might have been an old thread as I've read a lot, and some things have changed.

And yes, the reason I mentioned 1-4 "losing my crap" moments is because I'm well aware of what happens at 5. I don't plan on it, but it did happen to a few of my old characters on OSI as I got sick of people rorting the notoriety system.

And wow champ skulls, my last memory of them was with 120 Margery and all the other crap changes that had me finally delete my houses, characters and bid OSI UO farewell

I just checked the FAQ on housing, and you are right, they are newbied items, so only drop on red corpses.

    Correct.

I forgot I was red once and recalled into town with about 2 mil in various house deeds on me.

    Stoner problems.

As someone who is old enough to get crusty ear and sinus deluges, I feel your pain. Fortunately, for myself, I tend to clear those seepages before recalling to town.

I came here to say this part.

Question: if someone gave me anniversary jewelery, is it still newbied?

If go red, then back to blue, do items still go back to newbied?
