I hope your all doing good! Sorry I have not been around as of late; as we get older we tend to realize that sometimes real life trumps our game time. I've been trying to check in as of lately just to keep up and stay connected with my friends; and low and behold disaster strikes even worse disaster. I woke up last week with a spilt cup all over my tower... (Computer tower) My kitten bumped into a dunkin donuts cup and well.. Yeah it just won't turn on. This is my first time on my own, paying my own bills, blah blah (I'm 23) and have no real support in the state I live in. So, I am getting my laptop set up but it's going to be a bit before I am back in my gaming mode. And alas, due to a product change at work I haven't been able to idle at work (Oh the misery) Just wanted to touch base with all my friends here and let you all know your loved, and how much this server is loved. Kinda been at a low point lately, so I am planning on jumping on more. Trying to escape in real life has been leading me down some dark paths I have experienced before and I don't want to experience again. Either way, hows everyone and whats been going on? Pic related is the only thing been keeping me sober and half-way sane.
For a little under 20 years now, I've kept a separate bank account open with just enough to buy a new computer setup. I throw in a 10 or so every week till I hit my objective. Anyway... I've used the funds and refilled a few times now but, it's afforded me only one day's downtime My name is Bob and I'm a gaming addict.
Plug your monitor, mouse and keyboard into the laptop. Should be able to handle UO just fine.... But yeah I need a decent tower in my life, I feel you. As for the spilt coffee, if it's no boot at all probably Motherboard or PSU fried (at a minimum) Start testing shit, probably won't need an entirely new rig.
Yeah I figured as much. I work in sales, paid 90$ for a new 970$ (350$) 3 weeks before the 1080 was released... Either way I won so I am PRAYING that it is still working. Just saying it's not the same. I got everything plugged in and all, just different and don't feel like I am gaming just browsing the webs. Glad your all doing great. Hoping to be there soon. I went from making 17k in total last year to being at almost 25k this year in total.. Nothing great but still not at the point where I can budget/save money. I am SLOWLY but not enough for big purcahses besides motorcycle/real life stuff... PC has been part of my life forever but been something I have always been able to slowly work on. Suprisingly, my laptop runs Overwatch better than my PC... Just due to everything being balance. (840m Geforce, i7, 1200$ Laptop) compared to 2000$ PC but parts spanning years apart and just not running optimal.
Glad to see you are still around man, though I am sorry to hear about your misfortunes. Myself and some others just the other day were talking about you and saying how we wished you were around more I will try to catch you in IRC or in-game whenever you do get back in
Sorry to hear about your rough times, been there. Here's a little suggestion on saving money; toss dimes nickles, and the lowly penny into a container. Much more inconvenient to dig out and spend than quarters. ( lol I've tried saving quarters, just too tempting to grab a few) Granted won' get rich quick, but they do add up over time. And when you are ready, don't forget good old Gregg's list ( spelling ) for computer stuff.
