About chumbucket and Associates [cA]

chumbucket and Associates [cA] is a guild of thieves. We're here to enjoy at ourselves while providing a service to the shard, viz., we play the role of genuinely dangerous enemies. We don't PK you in destard and leave your recall reagents. We will loot you, scam you, steal from you, and otherwise do things that you need to worry about. We will take everything you have if we can. And we'll post funny stories about it on the forums.

The Recruitment Process

chumbucket and Associate is always interested in recruiting new members, but we are very selective. New members are accepted on a provisional basis only. They are given the rank of Junior Associate. Junior Associates are expected to actively participate in guild activities (e.g., permit enforcement, home security, etc.).

After one month, Junior Associates must submit an application for promotion to rank of Associate. Whether or not the application is accepted will depend on the outcome of a secret vote by Senior Associates. It will help if Senior Associates know that you have been active in guild activities. New Associates remain in the guild as long they remain active, but will need reapply if they wish to join the guild after a significant period of time away from the guild. Associates with a history of activity and contributing to the guild will attain the status of good standing and, thus, will no longer need to reapply to the guild if they go on an extended hiatus.

Senior Associates are by appointment from chumbucket and the current Senior Associates only. Do not ask to become a Senior Associate.

Guild Rules

There are very few rules, but they are taken very seriously.

1. No HAX of any kind. cA members are expected to follow all shard rules.

2. No epithets (e.g., 'nigger', 'fag', etc.) on the forums, in IRC, or in game.

3. Respect the guild and all guild members at all times.

4. Do not cause shard staff unnecessary problems.


Recruitment

Send an application to chumbucket that answers the following questions.

1. How long have you played UO? This shard?

2. Who are your other characters? What are their names, stats, and skills?

3. Do you have your own gold? How much? House? What kind? How many?

4. Do you agree to obey all guild rules?

5. Why do you want to join cA?

6. Please provide some documentation of you engaged in [cA]-like activities.


A Note from chumbucket

[cA] prefers quality over quantity. We want members who are both mature and capable. We, therefore, do NOT accept every applicant, nor do we automatically promote Junior Associates to permanent members. If you are rejected, please don't take it personally. We are far more likely to reject applications that do not include ALL of the required information, that are extremely poorly written (we're not grammar police but you should show some effort and note if English is not your native language) or if you do not have a fully developed character ready to immediately put on the stone.


"How Can I Get Accepted?"

The answer is simple: Show us that you would be a good fit for [cA]. We want players that

(i) are capable UO players - You should know the ins and outs of Ultima Online and the shard.

(ii) do what we do - You should steal, scam, lie, and probably make some funny posts about it on the forums! You should also ENJOY all of these things and not be so concerned about PHAT LOOTZ and RED POTS ONLY PvP. We don't want to keep you from doing those things, but fundamentally [cA] members don't care as much about those things as they do being thieves.

(iii) are mature - You don't have to be a certain age, but you have to show us that you aren't some online video game weirdo who constantly uses racial epithets, freaks out over a video game, etc.. We can't cope with that. We just want to have a good time. If you are like that, you are probably being looked at as a target and not as a potential recruit.

Do everyone on this shard a favor and go enjoy AT yourself back on that other shard you helped bring to ruin.

Potential applicants be warned, any information you provide this shady group of trouble makers can and will come back to bite you in the arse.

Their poisonous behavior will infect this shard and could degrade it to a situation similar to that other shard. Many of us know what they did on that shard and how its doing now.

Save Renaissance before it needs saving, renounce these self confessed thieves and griefers. No matter what your differences may be with other guilds and members of this shard, cA must be ostracized and their activities hampered by all of us.

Do not let them bring down what has so far been the best UO freeshard in existence!

Now that is the kind of go-getter attitude this guild is looking for. Methinks someone is looking for a fast-track to Senior Associate!!!

Considering everything you posted in thr A^T forums, my original post in this thread is a letter of appreciation. And all I did was express some observations and opinions. Going to edit out foul characters because that surely is what you mean by 'trash talk'.

If the above is the kind of post that makes you tear up with pride, apply to [cA] today.

This is a guild recruitment thread, you clearly aren't the type of player that this would interest. So keep it civil please.

The last thing i want to do is associate myself with a bunch of griefers. I am a huge fan of the dark arts and rp is close to heart but what you guys do is grief with little to no restraint and that does not help the shard and its prospects. The only people benefiting from grief are the sick b@$tards applying it. And for the record, I know you guys are quite bright, creative and resourceful and it really saddens me to see that potential wasted on being sh!t disturbers. Some of the stuff snap did was hilarious and in accordance with great justice but for the most part you guys pick on good and friendly members of the community which I will always oppose and fight against. Unless this guild changes its mandate significantly it will never have my support.

This thread has absolutely nothing to do with you. You clearly don't want to join our guild, but many many people have expressed interest in it. I don't think you would be a good fit for this guild anyway, as it would seem you lack any sort of sense in differentiating a video game from reality. Calm down, make a post in trash talk, or PK me and TAK MY GLD in game, but please show some courtesy to your fellow players.

Additionally, I have noticed you are in A^T without a permit, you might want to start thinking about buying one today! Thanks.

Slandering our guild with your f*&^ing bullsh!t permit gag is far from respectful, so how about shove it up your a$$.

I have all the gold I need and all my characters are named in accordance with cA policy; after respected members of the community in pathetic attempt to defame or discredit them and the positive efforts they have put forth on this shard.
