Hi UOR, I have semi-finished two chars, at the moment I'm not battle mining, but maybe would be interesting, problem is I want become 1 of them as crafter and the other one as PvM (events or fun when I dont have anything to do) and maybe resource gatherer. So I was thinking remove Mining from Crafter and add to the warrior, or forget about Lumberjacking and simply buy the boards I need and add mining instead lumber. I dont know, could leave the Crafter as it is at the moment and simply defend from any spawn with magery Blades or summoned daemon and become the warrior from Archer to Lumber? I dont know, please help and advices! Crafter (100/25/100) 100 Mining (finished) 100 Blacksmithing (finished) 100 Carpentry (finished) 100 Tailoring (raising) 100 Tinkering (raising) 100 Magery (raising) 55 Meditation (finished) 45 Musicianship (finished) PvM warrior (90/100/35) 100 Archery (raising) 100 Tactics (raising) 100 Anatomy (finished) 100 Healing (finished) 100 Resisting Spell (finished) 100 Lumberjacking (not started) 100 Magery (raising)
I have battle miners one I use for night of horrors and one I do more over world battle mining with. The Night of Horrors/battle miner is: Mining Blacksmith Healing Anatomy Tactics Mace Tailoring Did the tailoring since I have blacksmith I could pick up both BOD's on the same char. I have 3 blacksmith/tailors one of each account for bods. Works great for Night Of Horrors since I can make my own weapon then go fight. Now my other battle miner I play a lot more with elementals is: Mining Lumberjack Healing Anatomy Tactics Swords Poisoning as I have gotten better weapons I don't use the poison as much, use to have hot keys set could swap out weapons, so I could poison it then hit it with a low end elemental ban weapon. Don't know if this is any help but does seem to work for me with battle mining.
My battle miner is as follows : Mining Swordsmanship Tactics Lumberjacking Anatomy Healing Magery To supplement him when battle mining I made 2 of my BODers into archers to shoot from a nearby rooftop. BODer 1 Blacksmithing Tailoring Tinkering Archery Tactics Anatomy Healing BODer 2 Blacksmithing Tailoring Archery Tactical Anatomy Provocation Musicianship The 2 BODers chill on a rooftop with a macro to target nearest grey and shoot, while the Provo BODer also includes provo random grey to random grey. This allows me to spawn multiple golems at a time to easily provo them on each other while they are getting pelted with arrows and getting whacked by the lumberjack.
I use Keza Forge for battle mining and NoH very successfully. Only need enough magery to recall around without failing too much.
What do you think of a battle minning templet of : Sword Tact Anatomy Lumberjack Mining Magic Medatation All at 100 use magic for healing, travel hiding. Thanks, South
35 Int and no Meditation/Eval will seriously limit the usefulness of Magery.. so waste of time and money to GM it... why not go 50 Magery and then say 50 Bow/Fletch for arrows and exceptional bows or 50 Hiding, or 50 Meditate to offset lower Int. If you must have magic hiding then raise Magery to 75 and then just play it up as it goes or better yet leave it at 50 and carry a couple scrolls.
The thing with magic is casting blade sprites will take down a ore ele by its self. Just seems it would be a lot of help. But I'm looking for opinions as I have never if this template before. Thanks, South
I am developing a Battle Miner. My Character already has 100 skill in Mining and Lumberjacking (She resource gathers for my crafter) I want to raise all these skills to 100 except Magery: Mining Swordsmanship Tactics Lumberjacking Anatomy Healing Magery The battle skills are not 100 yet. They range from 35ish to 70ish atm. My question to all you veterans out there is do I have to wait till I max out all these skills or at what point can one tackle elementals? Also, with magery, I was planning to level that to 50 or so. Should I raise it higher?
My All-Around Battle Miner, I have: Mining-100 Anatomy-100 Tactics-100 Swords-100 Music-100 Healing-90 Peacemaking-80 Magery-30 (Recall Scrolls) This allows me to solo and travel with ease. If I feel like going hard, then I just bust out my provo-dexxer on a second account. I recently tried parry because it's a really easy and quick skill to raise, but after experimenting with it, I decided peace-battle miner was easier and more my style. Was hoping to give parry the benefit of the doubt with all the negative things I've heard about it so I decided to test it myself and I'd say the general underwhelming feeling of the skill is accurate.
I've had a lot of fun with this template for battle mining: Mining Swords LJ Tactics Anatomy Healing Magery - 70.1 Med - 29.9 I mostly use magery for utility (recall w/o scrolls, gate and other higher level spells w/ scrolls). I usually do the 70/30 split so I can recall around without scrolls - just a personal preference!
If you're wanting to gate you'll need 40 INT. You'll probably want 100 dex to shave an extra second off your heals, so that'll leave you at 85/100/40
I've been running 95/90/40, but I've found that carrying capacity isn't as important as I thought so I've been considering trying 85/100/40.
