    Hey there!
    I'm Kajamaz.
I've played Mortal Online and Runescape, and i've known about this game for a while but never tried.
I looked up private servers for this game and had a liking for yours!
So... i'm not 100% clueless about games like this, i mean, MO is based on UO, so, i have some clue.
I quit MO because it was too, time consuming and... useless, the number of bugs, hit detection issues, and lack of a good community killed it...
I PLAYED IT NON STOP FOR A FEW WEEKS, i LOVED THE FREEDOM OF IT!
But now i'm with this, since this looks better.
    I have a few questions.
#1. Is this a good server? Are there better UO servers that represent the actual game?
#2. What Town should i start in?
#3. How simular to the original game is it?
#4. How fast is the exp!
#5. I love summoning, having pets and mounts, what should i go for (as in skills, class, etc...)
#6. Any newbie tips for me?
#7. I hope it'll be fun (not really a question)

So, answer if you wish, i wont force you, once again, i've NEVER PLAYED THIS GAME BEFORE, but the amount of content in it and the freedom of it gives me happy feelings ;)

    Weclome to UO, Kajamaz.

This is the best server around.
#2. What Town should i start in?
Starting town doesn't matter much but probably Occlo. That's where our new player tutorial program is located.
#3. How simular to the original game is it?
This is quite similar to the way the game was about 13 years ago. The changes we've made have been perfect it a little and add some new interest for jaded veterans.
#4. How fast is the exp!
There is no exp. Each skill gains by actively using that skill. How quick it goes is based on the skill and the way you work it. Most players "macro" the skill automatically while they aren't actively playing but that takes a little getting used to if you haven't done it before.
#5. I love summoning, having pets and mounts, what should i go for (as in skills, class, etc...)
You can have 15 characters here so you can do just about everything you miht want. Just get in the game and expiriment a little to get to know how things work and when you're ready you'll probably want to make a bard to earn cash to train further characters. This guide should help.
#6. Any newbie tips for me?
UO is a complex game so I wouldn't really know where to start. Just don't worry about losing your stuff too much and check out our IRC channel. There's plenty of people in there that can help you out with any problems you run into.
#7. I hope it'll be fun (not really a question)
You'll be experiencing the best MMO of all time.

I've been on the MMO roller coaster a long time. Everquest to DAOC to Warhammer Online to Aion to DDO and most things in between. UO is the only MMO I consistently come back to. The learning curve is very steep, but its a type of gaming experience you can't get in modern MMOs anymore.

Definitely jump in IRC when you're playing. Also get familiar with Razor as much as possible, especially the macro tab.

Welcome to UO! The others are right, this game has a very steep learning curve, especially compared with the modern MMO's which have been so dumbed down that the most intellectually challenging they get is the part where you enter your password at the login screen. UO isn't flashy or sexy (though I have always loved the graphics) but it is the most complex and rewarding game you will ever play. Nothing has ever nor will ever really compare to it. It's not so much a game as it is a world.
