    Fishing 100
    Archery 100
    Tactics 100
    Music 100
    Peace 100
    Anatomy 85
    Healing 85
    Magery 30

    Will this be useable?

I am thinking 30 magery to recall from scrolls, since I cant put a ships key in a runebook

I am only going to heal myself so the above was what I came up with. Still able to res if needed.

Anything is usable if you put your mind to it, and I don't really see any glaring problems with the build. The only thing that may weigh on you is if pirates should come calling, you may not be setup for survival.

If you plan to have 1 fisher then I agree that archery is the way to go, unless you can find a reptile slayer in a melee weapon. However, any type of bard skill is kinda useless out there as nothing is really that difficult to kill. The only time that I see peacemaking as useful is when you fish up a Shipwreck Kraken because they tend to swim away very fast when they are low on health. If you use UORudder (google it) then it should never be an issue catching up with a runaway Kraken.

However, if you eventually plan to run 2+ fishers then magery is your best bet. With archery you're going to go through a ton of arrows, some miss, some don't hit as hard as others, etc. Serpents/Deep Sea Serpents/Kraken/Shipwreck Kraken are all very very weak to energy bolt.

I run a macro with 3 fishers, they fish until they pull a monster then swap to energy bolt turrets until the monster is dead. I've run this same set up with archer bots instead and they fail to come even close to the damage that an energy bolt turret puts out.

Also, keep in mind that you want enough magery (or need an alt with enough magery) to gate out heavy items: Big Fish, MiB Chests, Leather, Fish Steaks, etc.

@Cynic So archery is basicly not worth it for nay char besides a lonely fisherman?
    ¨
I already felt scammed earlier when I picked archery and discovered arrow prices, but I am stubborn so I kept it and Gmed it.
Now I feel somewhat scammed again. There should be a warning when picking archery.

If I keep archery, what weapong will be most effective? Heavy xbow?

    Oh well overcome and adapt.

Those 3 fishers are they on same boat? If yes I can see that being very effective.

While we are talking about fishing, amib can they be soloed?

There really should be some sort of warning for archery. It's terrible for new players especially.

I'm not going to get into an archery debate, some will come into this thread and decapitate me if I speak ill of archery, I'll just say that I personally find it as a useless PvM/PvP skill in general (in it's current state).

Keeping archery I would advise you to use whatever best weapon you have. I'd use a vanq bow before a force xbow, etc. When I ran archer fishers I came into the problem where my bows would be in an almost constant state of disrepair. Currently the only way to repair bows, and keep them from breaking or producing low to shit damage, is to use powder of fort on them (an expensive way to repair). I found having to fort powder my bows every day to be very expensive and annoying. I started to keep every bow that I found during PvM and use them, regardless of their mods. I tried to find a GM Bowcrafter but there are -10 of them on this server, good luck (there may be more now).

Yes, I use 3 fishers on the same boat, on the same tile. I have 3 macros, because fishing has to be attended anyway. My main macro makes all fishers fish until they pull up a monster, when a monster pops up the 2nd macro makes them all cast Energy Bolt until the monster dies, the 3rd macro is a loot/skin macro. Takes me about 3 seconds to kill a serpent plus another 3 seconds to loot/skin/clean and get back to fishing. I clean the serpents so that I don't have to move my boat around the corpse and waste time, plus I get horned leather this way too.

AMiBs can be solo'd, there are a couple guides here in the forums on that. You cannot solo them with this or really any fisher build. A Bard Dexxer is a good place to start if looking to solo, but you'd want to be proficient with this template before tackling an AMiB solo.

I have swords with lumberjack bonus on my fisher - I liked it better than archery. Felt like better DPS and no arrow cost of course. As Cynic said, nothing you will face is too terribly tough, so barding isn't really required. My grand idea was to have peacemaking on my 2nd character and just have them continually peacemake the nearest gray in a macro. Ended up being more trouble than it was worth... would stick serpents away from the boat which was annoying.

AMIBs can be solo'd (there is an additional reward for soloing them actually), but are pretty tough if you are going in blind. People have solo'd them as thieves, tamers, bards, and dexxers. I'll take you on one if you want to get a "lay of the land" sometime.

That is a pretty awesome setup. Does one volley from each character pretty much kill everything you run into? Or gotta med sometimes?

I bring my tamer with his nightmare with my fisherman, I never had a problem. If I'm gonna do fishnets then I just bring my dragons.

They can kill 3 deep sea serpents with energy bolt turrets without stopping to med. After 3 they need to med to kill anything else. I never have any issues at all running them as mages. I kill the shipwreck Kraken before it has time to run away.

    Hey

I can see that I need to change strategy.

I will try Cynics setup over time. For now I will keep the archer, just to get started and work on the next with magery.
God damn, every time I think I will be able to save up some money, I have to train magery again :)

I will take The Hoff up on his offer one of these days.

    Thanks for all your help
