I am currently at 90.8 shown skill in Fishing. I am still Young play status and am fishing from a boat in Occolo. When do you start fishing up other things besides fish and special fish? Should I have done so already? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Right now I feel like I wasted a skill.
You need to be in deep water to get other items. (About 20 tiles away from land should do it) You will get some special items at 90. You will get even more as you reach 100 skill. Definitely not a wasted skill on UOR! The big prizes from fishing are AMIBs (ancient messages in bottles) that are worth 50k and up, though you need 100 skill to have a chance to get those.
What are giant fish used for? Anything? And yes, fishing is great in this game. My favorite past time.
You can mount them to make a fishing trophy, that's about it. Zyler runs a fishing tournament every couple of months that use them. I think one is starting shortly, actually.
