I've seen (albeit it) not many but every once in a while people buying or selling bulk gems. Assuming lower than vendor price would buy them for. Is this just to flip them to the vendors or is there another use for them? Thinking its just t o slip for a little extra $$ Thanks,
Gems are only used for charging communication crystals and making jewellery. The sales threads you see are exactly as you said, selling on to NPCs for a higher price.
