Teach me though. I have 3 GM fishers.. because I had 1 GM fisher and I was instantly addicted to getting Amibs. You can now find me sailing the seas with 3 GM fishers and 2 dragons to eat the random mobs I pull up. My questions are.. What is the schematics behind fishing? With one fisher I was pulling up shipwrecked krakens like it was nothing. 3 fishers.. literally getting nothing. I also remember when I did pull up a shipwrecked kraken.. I will pull another up within a couple screens of the last one. Are there spots that matter? Theoretically speaking, every time I fish one up I (100% of the time so far) will fish another one up nearby. Do nets matter? Should I be throwing nets in at sos sites? Or fishing at sos sites (since technically there is a shipwreck, and should have better chances finding a kraken?) I know you have to be away from land.. as I am very far from land.. Please help. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
As far as I know, it's all random. The fact that you pulled up shipwreck kraken multiple times within screens of each other, or within few casts of each other, I would consider luck. I have heard stories of people pulling up kraken 3 times in a row in 3 casts. I've also heard, and experienced first hand, of players with 3 fishers who won't pull up a kraken for hours upon hours. If you're serious about obtaining AMiBs for personal use, then yea, throw those nets as you get them. Personally, I save all regular MiBs until I have around 125ish and then I fish them all up in a couple of days. BTW, you put fishing on your tamer? You're now my fishing hero.
I dont understand how you fight loch lake monsters without dragons lol. Krakens are beasts too. Thanks Cynic.. I still feel there is something weird with my 'random' amibs at this point. Regular Mibs give you anything special? Ive done like 20 and walked away with some metal chests and broken barrels.
I have 3 mage fishers casting energy bolt spams, seems to do the trick. Regular MiBs are, I believe, like level 2 TMaps. You can fish up some "rare" shipwreck stuff, I consider all of that junk. The only thing I value from the MiBs are the gold, occasional plat, metal chests, regs, gems, and scrolls. The magic armor/weapons are pretty much crap, crap which I keep in the corner of my fort to create longer world saves.
i fished for 3 days with my 3 fishers and yesterday I got a shipwrecked kraken fished up and all day yesterday I fished and decided to throw a net cuz I was about to log and first net made the boat with shipwrecked kraken appear. two days ago I got 3 big fish pretty much within an hour of fishing. haven't thought to throw a net where a mib is but its something to consider trying atleast (what do ya have to loose right) as far as loch lake monster usually when they appear for me they are accompanied with 2 more mobs cast net have invis ready for when they pop....invis then provoke the mobs onto each other get ready for blade spirits and provoke the BS onto the loch repeat till loch is dead simple. I'm not impressed with how hard it is to kill them that randomly they give you a plat. only bonus so far for loch is when skinned give 50 barbed leather
Archery Magery Fishing Done if you want to go all out get Meditation Tactics Anatomy and Resist or Tracking or both
I'm not a fan of archery because you have to factor in the cost to repair bows, arrows, and all the missing you're gonna do. All sea creatures are very weak to energy bolt and they get absolutely wrecked by 3 mages. Resist is sill because nothing higher than 3rd circle get's cast on you, Kracken's have a firebreath that I don't think can be mitigated by resist, even so the fire breath has a long delay in between casts, enough for you to heal twice. I have tracking on 1 of my fishers and only because that char is also an event tracking char. I think tracking out at sea is useless. I spent an entire day once tracking, thinking and hoping I'd find someone elses kraken, nope.
i'm with cynic on resist just cast magic reflect on you and you should be just fine only difference I do is separate my 3 fishers I have them all on different boats. I think its more productive but yeah that's me. happy fishing
