By order of the King of OoO, a guild meeting will be held on 12/8/2013, at approximately 2PM Central Standard Time (Noon Pacific/3PM Eastern). Attendance is not mandatory but highly recommended and appreciated. Several new members have come along and some old ones have moved on. We will discuss the ongoing Faction warfare, group events and other such activities. If you have any topics you wish to discuss, please PM me in advance so we can get that on the list of topics. Otherwise, nothing major to discuss but a good opportunity to get to know your guild and its people.

After the meeting concludes, we will hold the trial of the murderer Bartimus. I will arrange the guild hall in such a way that our members have preferred seating, whilst outsiders may bear witness or take some part, from outside that area. I will select a jury as I see fit.

Anyone found disrupting the proceedings or in contempt of court, will be banned from the guild hall without question. All parties will have a chance to state their case and make their claims. I will allow witness testimony to be brought forth as well. The defense attorney, Atraxi, will be present to support his client, bartimus. Our prosecutor, representing the People of OoO, will be Wise. Should he not be serving our best interests, in the name of the king, a new attorney will be appointed.

I look forward to seeing you all in attendance but I understand if other realms pull you away or prevent such.

Hail Renaissance and long live Adventure Time!!!

    Sincerely,
    Blaise, King of OoO

The prosecution will uphold the standard of justice and will serve in the interest of the King and his people. The sacred laws of our beloved Land of OoO will guide us to the path of truly great justice. The murderer Bartimus will be proven guilty and a compelling case will be made to our great King to distribute justice as his will sees fit.

    High Prosecutor,

Considering how many people he's PK'd I highly doubt an impartial jury could be found. This should be fun to watch though.

It seems to me that since it's a trial to determine whether he should be allowed membership in A^T, as far as I understand, that the jury should be made up of A^T members. That alone ensures a bias of one sort or another. If Blaise decides otherwise I'd volunteer as someone who's suffered little at the hands of the murderer Bartimus. I'd gladly reschedule some appointments that day for "jury duty."

I'm so disappointed I missed the trial. So what's the verdict?

The verdict is that while we have mixed feelings about his actions and how they break the rules of the guild, he is not welcome back in the guild, yet.

He will have to find a member of the guild willing to sponsor him on the guild stone at which point, he will be approved or denied based on my understandings of his actions and how they befit the name of Adventure Time and its people.

Bartimus wasn't given a fair trials, and indeed it was openly declared that he would not be subject to even a modicum of fairness. And still he manages to get less than full guilty verdict. Imagine what would have been possible in a fair trial conducted by rules rather than whim and with counsel capable of making his case to its full extent.

No. It seemed inconsistent to serve as counsel when the leaders and members of the guild openly gloated about not caring about fairness and actual guilt/innocence. I would not participate in a railroading. Bartimus expressed some dismay about the proceedings to me. I'm surprised he went through with it, given the situation and the strong case for his innocence that he could not reasonably expect to be allowed to make.
