Hey Everyone, I've been getting an itch for some UO Fun. Trying to find a Freeshard that is active but doesn't have all of the new item enhancements and blah that I keep seeing everywhere. Just looking for some startup help and learning the ropes. Also is there housing available still or is it all plotted and you have to purchase placed? Also what's the primary bank people reside at? Hey hey Nefarius. My name is Krake. I run the new player guild here called Project Sanctuary. First thing, get into IRC. Its the easiest way to get live answers to your questions. Lots of active people in the channel. You can access our IRC on the UO:R main page in the left margins, or download mIRC and gain access there. When you are in IRC type "/join #PS" and that will take you to my guild's channel and we can all help you OR you can stay in main chat, as the community here is great and nearly anyone will help with questions. To your specific questions I have seen: 1. Neon hair? Yes, but its very rare. The vast majority here just have standard colors. 2. There are for sure PvP guilds here. There are faction and chaos/order wars, as well as open world PvP, sanctioned Duels and PvP tourneys. There are also a good amount of overworld events that draw the PvPers. 3. Small and medium houses plots are available, but large and massive houses likely will have to purchased from other players. 4. Occlo for new players (we have a new player Young program here), Skara, Moonglow, Serpents Hold for most trades, and the to lesser extent West Brit, Vesper, Trinny. Other useful info- - Rune books are not blessed here by default. You can purchased a runebook bless deed with platinum (custom currency here eared in-game, not thru real money) which costs 250 plat or about 2.5 million gold (1 plat is worth about 10k gold here). - Animal tamers are big thing here and have regulations and quests on how to bond pets. - Crafting here is amazing and lot of people make money that way. - You can have 3 account, with 5 characters each. So lots of us are macroing with one or two account and playing with our third. - This server has the best staff and community of any game I have played. Hands down.
