The Stone Crafter Helper that lets you click a link for more info, is linking to a dead link.

I say give him 100 lashings.

On the topic of Helpers. I think the Helper at the player vendor house near the bank should be removed, or all player ran vendor should be able to have their own Helper NPCs

Why? Having new players educated on the mechanics here only helps their retention

In the interest of being fair, I agree with this. But, the intent is to help new players...

I guess this boils down to the portrayal of some vendor houses as being endorsed by the shard and thereby of better quality than others.

New Players do start in Occllo, and most likely will be finding the bank first - and then a vendor on screen with that bank. So I can see the reasoning.

But I think he should be pantsed.

And if we're being honest, that vendor house is usually overpriced. Which, is taking advantage of players who don't know you can walk to that moongate, click yew Brit were my vendor house is :p and have access to a hundred vendors with cheaper prices. I'm not saying that it's terribly wrong, I'm just saying it's kinda shitty that Occolo vendors charge 500 gold for something like a GM repair deed.

Cost to make a repair deed = 4 gold + time (approx 2 seconds)

I do not wish to turn this thread into a "bash this vendor house and it's proprietors" venture...

When I first logged in, I of course headed straight for the bank.
From my vantage point, I did see the helper spam and subsequently the vendor house itself.

Curious, I headed over to look over the goods.

I then saw the prices... and said out loud, good grief things are expensive here! I guess I'll have to start a crafting mule after all.

I later learned the prices at this particular vendor house are a tad higher than others on the isle and like an educated shopper, I took my dollar elsewhere. I made my own assumptions and yes, for a moment even contemplated if gouging prices due to the "convenient" location was applicable.

Then again, I was assuming... overall, I decided to not get lost in the minutia and I moved on.

So, was the objective of the Helper placement met?

    Yep. A lesson was learned.

That would be cool if you could make your own helpers with a helper deed. Then I could fill a house of them with basic info for newbies :D

Marked up prices that encourage players to leave Occlo to find better prices, are a good thing. Really anything that encourages players to get off of easy street and go play the game, is a good thing.
