Building central symmetrical stairs in a castle with connections to the 4 turrets and aesthetic decor.

Notice: You can use the Interior Decorating Tool instead of fish steaks and tables for this guide. Just move things up 1 for a fish steak, and 6 for each table.

So you have purchased a shiny new casltle and you want to build stairs to the roof without wasting space or aesthetics. This guide will teach you how to build walk able and non blocking steps that allow for full use of your castles walkways while giving you functional access to the roof and turrets.

    ~~ Preparation ~~
    Item Needed
    500 cooked fish steaks
    20-50 tables
36-110 short stools (the ones without the additional bar)
    500 Cloth, in 2 colors.

!! Note !! 36 lockdowns are required for the central stairs. A total of 112 for the complete walkway as shown. 100 lockdowns are needed if you only do 1 ramp per turret.

    Macro's Needed
Drop 1 Fish at your Location
Drop 2 Cloth at your location
Note: To make a drop macro simply stand in an open space with the related items in your inventory. Record a macro of you picking up and then dropping the item in question in the related location. Stop recording the macro. Right click on the pickup action in the macro and choose convert to pickup by type. Right click on the drop action in the macro and choose change to relative location.

    ~~ Step 1 ~~
Start by collecting all of your supplies in this area.

    ~~ Step 2 ~~
Begin by placing fishsteaks as shown in this picture. The pattern is 1, 3, 5. Place 2 fish steaks in the doorway where the stairs will cross over to the roof.

    ~~ Step 3 ~~
Next place tables on the fish steaks as shown. Place 3 tables in the doorway on the stack of 2 fishsteaks.

    ~~ Step 4 ~~
Place stools on the front row of fish and tables and lock them down.

    ~~ Step 5 ~~
Remove the tables and fish from the front area of the stairs.

    ~~ Step 6 ~~
To remove the fish steaks from the first 3 steps of any section. Release the footstool, eat the fishsteaks (careful not to move them) and then lock the stool down again. A starving character can eat 8 fishsteaks before being stuffed.

    ~~ Step 7 ~~
    After removing the fish.

    ~~ Step 8 ~~
Next we move on the the center section. Place stool on each table stack. From outside the main room place a stool on the stack in the doorway. The stool should appear on the roof if done correctly.

    ~~ Step 9 ~~
Remove all the tables and fish. The front section of the stairs is nearly complete.

    ~~ Step 10 ~~
Now we move onto the roof. Make sure you take some tables, fish and at least 7 stools. Place the fish as shown here. 1,3,5,1,5,3,1. A table will be placed on the center single fishsteak.

    ~~ Step 11 ~~
Place the center table and stools on each stack. Lock the stools down. You can remove the center table and fish steak once they are locked down. You must eat the other fish.

    ~~ Step 12 ~~
The finished front section of the stairs. This design will use 36 total lockdowns, is walkable and has limited areas where you can fall off.

    ~~ Step 13 ~~
Place 2 tables as shown here. This will help with keeping you from falling off the stairs. These can be any blocking item.

    ~~ Step 14 ~~
Next we will decorate the stairs using a trick to keep the laq minimal while allowing for some color and hiding the stools. This is options. I personally like using 2 fish steaks and 2 stacks of cloth. If you do not want to decorate your stairs skip to step 17.

Start by using your drop macro to place 2 fish on each step.

    ~~ Step 15 ~~
Next pickup 1 stack of the colored cloth and using your Drop 2 Cloth macro drop 2 stacks of 2 cloth on each step. I prefer the alternating look.

    ~~ Step 16 ~~
Drop 1 stack of cloth and pickup the 2nd color. Using the same method fill in the empty spots. This will be the final result.

    ~~ Step 17 ~~
Now we move onto connecting the turrets. From this point on there are a lot of options steps so just pick and choose the parts that you prefer.

Place 2 fish in each doorway as shown followed by 3 tables.

    ~~ Step 18 ~~
While outside the central room place a stool on the stack of 3 tables. It should appear on the roof.

    ~~ Step 19 ~~
On the east side. Place 2 fish steaks then the stool. This is required for a symmetrical design.

    ~~ Step 20 ~~
Next we build the ramps off the roof and the east and west side. Place fish and tables as shown in this picture.

    ~~ Step 21 ~~
Place stools as shown here and lock them down. Next we will move onto the east side connections to the turrets.

    ~~ Step 22 ~~
Place tables as shown here to act as your guide for where the walkway will be. Remember in the doorway to each turret we will need to place 2 fish and 3 tables.

    ~~ Step 23 ~~
Now on the north east section stack 5 tables in each tile. Go ahead and place the stool on the doorway stack. Place stools on each 5 table stack and lock it down. Remove the tables once complete.

    ~~ Step 24 ~~
Next we move onto the middle section. Repeat the same steps. 5 tables, stool, lockdown, remove tables.

    ~~ Step 25 ~~
    [IMG]

    ~~ Step 26 ~~
Now we move onto the south east section. Remember to do the doorway correctly.

    ~~ Step 27 ~~
Place stools on each stack. Lock them down and remove the tables.

    ~~ Step 28 ~~
    The completed walkway.

    ~~ Step 29 ~~
Next we move onto the ramps for the SE turret. You can choose to use just one of these ramps. However I will show both methods. Place fishsteaks and tables as shown here.

    ~~ Step 30 ~~
Place stools on each stack and lock them down. You can remove the central table and fish. The others have to be eaten.

    ~~ Step 31 ~~
Now we move onto the NE turret. Again I am showing two methods of ramps. Pick the best one that works for your design. Place fishsteaks and tables as shown.

    ~~ Step 32 ~~
Place stools as shown and lock them down. Remove the middle table and fishsteak.

    ~~ Step 33 ~~
Now we move onto decorating the walkway. This is optional. Start by placing 2 fishsteaks on each step.

    ~~ Step 34 ~~
Using the same trick as earlier pickup a single color of cloth and place 2 stacks of 2 on alternating steps. Repeat with the other color.

    ~~ Step 35 ~~
Now we move onto the west side. This is slightly different from the east as we will not go all the way to the west wall. Place tables as shown. Remember to place 2 fishsteaks and 3 tables in each doorway.

    ~~ Step 36 ~~
Starting on the north side place a stool on the doorway stack and stack the tables 5 high. Place stools on each stack, lock them down and remove the tables.

    ~~ Step 37 ~~
Next we repeat the same steps on the SW section.

    ~~ Step 38 ~~
Next we complete the middle section.

    ~~ Step 39 ~~
To complete the NW ramps place fish and a table as follows. This differs slightly from the east side. Remember only one of the ramps is needed. Place stools on each stack and lock them down. Remove the center table and fish steak.

    ~~ Step 40 ~~
Repeat the same steps on the SW turret.

    ~~ Step 41 ~~
Place stools on each stack and lock them down.

    ~~ Step 42 ~~
Decorate the walkway the same way should you desire.

    ~~ Step 43 ~~
Finally place a single blockable item in the location shown to keep you from falling off the edge.

    ~~ Finished Product ~~
Congrats! Hopefully your finished product looks like the picture.

LOL Six. It's even funnier walking on the stairs . Only problem is if you walk off the long drop
    to ground might kill ya.

Is it possible to make a bridge to connect the NE + NW and SE + SW towers the same way NE + SE and NW + SW are?

    crazy shit!!

I was wondering, instead of all that, would it be possible to add a carpentry item which requires something like 90 or 100 Magery as well, that creates 2 teleport tiles (only work within the same house) ?

I think I may have heard rumor that there may be a carpentry BOD in the works that would be a ladder...

    can anyone confirm?

Due to the easily exploitable nature of such an add-on, do not hold your breath for it. There will be plenty of testing done before the ladders are viable for distribution.

Also, I didn't see a mention in there about the height limits of the Deco Tool. If you can't raise an item higher with the tool, it may be required to stack tables to get it to the desired height. ;)
