Does fishing skill affect number of casts it takes to fish up a chest from a MIB? I've got a character with no fishing skill that it took 25 casts to pull up a chest. Decided to try my luck again, and have cast over 150 times (finally stopped counting) with no chest. I keep pulling up shipwreck loot, no fish, no "the fish are not biting here" message, but no chest either. i did set my fishing skill to gain, and have about 15 now. Haven't played a fisher on Renaissance before, but don't recall it taking anywhere near this long.
Lost track of the number of casts, but finally fished up the chest after half an hour. Is this normal?
I believe it's random. With my GM fishers, I have had the same encounters before. Sometimes I'll pull it up on the first try, other times I'll consider giving up as I'm dumping shipwreck loot onto the floor of my boat.
On a semi related note, I've been fishing on test for an hour and.... 28 minutes . Loot list so far... ONE special fishing net end of list EDIT: As I was typing this I fished up a sea serpent that dropped an MiB. Isn't it ironic... don' t you think?
