Is there a faster way to gain tracking? I've been macroing in town for almost two hours and I'm at 12.7.
I would train it up to 30~ from one of the rangers near Skara (Maybe the animal trainers can too?) before going any further. From what I remember, I GM'd tracking relatively easily by using it in my keep and tracking the first thing on the list and it didn't take too long. When you use it in town, what are you tracking? Do you get a message along the lines of "This place is too crowded/busy to track"?
I'm at the Skara trainer and when I say her name then train then tracking she just looks at me but doesn't say anything...
FYI saying their name followed by "teach" and only "teach", they will list the skills they have available for training
Just FYI, tracking isn't working right now anyway. You're basically wasting your time training this skill.
Hit or miss. The executive summary of the subject is, the skill is currently under (much needed) review.
You can't use the ranger outside the guard zone. Use the one next to the bank. The one outside town looks at you but that's it.
Theres also a ranger South of the bank, and a little West of the cotton fields in Occlo thatll train you to 33 real Tracking. I set a macro to *use Tracking *pause 500ms *select Players *pause 500ms *pick the first option on the list (top row, far left) *pause 10000ms LOOP I macroed about 30 tiles from the main cluster of players (NE corner of the bank) It was a slower skill to train like hiding, but I got to 43 from 33 in about an hour or so...
The skill is as good as disabled atm. I macroed it with this to GM: (Loop it by adding !Loop in first line or in Razor) Assistant.Macros.UseSkillAction|38 Assistant.Macros.WaitForGumpAction|2976808305|False|1 Assistant.Macros.GumpResponseAction|4|0|0 Also keep this macro handy for tracking players for pvp
You guys need to add the caveat when you say 'tracking is broken', tracking is only broken when tracking players. Do you have to track players to GM? Can you gain on fails? If not, a better idea may be to go to a stable and track animals.
When I train hiding and tracking, I always go to the Skara Tavern SW of the bank. IDK about tracking, but I know hiding seems to gain faster there for some reason.
Hiding gains faster if there's more people around to see you. That is why many people will train it at banks. Tracking is a whole nother animal.
I have gmed tracking in my house from 30 on a few characters. When I did it you didn't need to select anyone from the list, you could even do sea monsters and never see a thing on the list, I would do animals but never select anything. Unless that changed recently. Takes about 2 days.
