Hello everyone We are afraid to say that we have just uploaded our final stream onto our You Tube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtPmgUkQgurGS6xr9mKOS7A We have uploaded a total of 79 full streams of us playing Ultima Online on the UO Renaissance server. It takes us a vast amount of time to do each upload, as we must first download the stream from Twitch onto our PC, then we have to cut and edit it and re-save it, then pack it so it uploads faster, then finally upload it onto You Tube which take a long time. Each stream takes us around 3-4 hours to get from Twitch upto You Tube. Not too many people seem to have taken to the You Tube channel, we only have 29 Subscribers there and not too many views, so we decided that we will just stream instead, but no longer upload the streams onto You Tube. You can still catch our older streams on Twitch, as Twitch saves them for 14 days. We will however still stream, but we are taking a little break from it, as the stream has gone a little stagnant lately, we did used to have a steady 25-30 viewers a night, now we are lucky to get 10. We have put this down to our characters not being strong enough to do tougher challenges. So we are taking time out to try and make them stronger. But it would make a boring stream. Thanks for your streaming. It has been a great advertisement tool. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help "make your characters tougher" to get them ready for tougher challenges. I know you don't like to macro but we can stand around and chat while I have my 3 mages casting flamestrike on you while you heal yourself by hand to work resist! That's not macroing! I'm sure we could come up with other ways to work other skills. Also, consider animal taming as a skill as it is one of the few skills that is still fun to work by hand if you haven't already did 1 before here. And obviously we all know the power these possess for farming. Not sure how fun they would be to watch on a stream, but couldn't hurt to have one made anyway. Well, I'm going to keep viewing and chalk this up as another growth period for your project. Side note: You shouldn't have to feel that you need tamers to experience and do well in the "high end" content here. #fixparrydamnit
Hi Dakota and Shaylie sorry to hear your youtube videos haven't taken off yet I think if I were checking out the channel I might be interested in seeing shorter videos that are edited to highlight a specific encounter or experience. Maybe videos that are edited to the five minute range. When someone watches a twitch channel they get to tune in and experience the game with you as you talk to them and interact with them. Perhaps on youtube people want to see a more produced, highlighted experience. more than anything, enjoy the game and if youtube is beginning to feel like 'work' then you're doing the right thing by putting it on the back burner see you around!
I'm also sad to see this, but...understand completely why you made this choice. Unfortunately my real has been such that i am unable to watch live/offline as much as before. Hello all Thank you all for your kind understanding about our You Tube channel, we will definitely be streaming again, we are making some final adjustments to Dakota and Shaylie with the help of a good friend So they will be changing some things, but they are things we are willing to stream. So if all goes well, we may be streaming again on Saturday, so fingers crossed Dakota and Shaylie
Congrats to you both for publishing 79 streams on YouTube. That really is a great accomplishment given the time and energy you mentioned it takes. You both should feel great for putting in all that hard work. Also, thank you for continuing to stream on Twitch. I am very thankful for that day I decided to check out your stream of an old game I used to play and to find myself back at it as I was when I was 15 years old. I hope that others are captured by the content you provide just as I am. It's been a great 50 and some days for me playing on UOR and I have you both to thank for suggesting I give it a go. And, you were right Dakota, I haven't gone wrong in doing so. Cheers.
