I started a new build and I'm curious what people's opinions are over katanas vs. axes. I have a fencer .. and I'm not a fan. To hit something with a vanq short spear for like 2 damage every second just feels too puny. Are katanas REALLY that much better than short spears? I started playing with the following: Yes, I realize the lj bonus is only +2 .. but I can't quite seem to decide if katanas are the way to go or not. It doesn't help that most of my slayers are axes. Anatomy 100 Provocation 100 Musicianship 100 Swords 100 Healing 90 Tactics 90 (i have plenty of +15 weapons) Magery 80 Lumberjacking 40 str/dex/int: 100/100/25
with katanas you can dp them and switch between it to poison or interrupt spells and the axe for maximum damage.
